[Don Taylor] I thought JT Miller came across like a team leader more than any other Vancouver player during Saturday’s media availability. Should he be considered for the captaincy along with Hughes and Pettersson?

He should be an A, in my opinion. One of the core leaders, no doubt.
Nope. Sorry Don.
***Long Live Captain Quinn!***
Mans out of line, but he’s not wrong
Should he be considered? Yes. Should he get it? No.
At the same time, I don’t know the inner workings of the team and fans shouldn’t decide who their leader is.
I think it should be Hughes. Pettersson will get annoyed by the stupid questions from the media
For sure, all of Miller, Petey and Hughes have an argument to being captain imo
And I don’t think I’d be upset by any choice
Make him captain right before NMC kicks in the trade him. Two captains traded in the same year? This is the way.
The A is perfect for him IMO. He has leadership qualities yes, but he is far too much of a rollercoaster to be the captain.
Hughes at C with Petey and Miller as the A’s. Hughes brings the best parts of what the others bring to the table as a player, teammate, and leadership figure with fewer of the individual or cumulative flaws.
Have a captain of the month like the Wild use to do before they finally got a full time captain.
In all seriousness, Hughes or Pettersson is likely the next captain, whenever that might be. And, while I’m not saying being the captain is not a big deal, I don’t think it’s the same as in the past. The leadership group on any team goes beyond the guys with the letters on their jerseys.
I think the last thing JT needs is a bigger media spotlight on him
I don’t think how a player presents themself to the media and fans should have anything to do with their leadership/captainship status, but purely on their words and actions behind closed doors and on the ice between themselves and their coaches and other players.
Good quotes are nice and all, but what we hear in press conferences means nothing. It’s filtered. Let the boys figure it out themselves without outside sources pretending to be in on the process.
JT Miller is the unofficial captain along with Quinn.

Petey should not be burdened with talking to dumb-ass media after every loss.
I love JT Miller. Loved the trade to get him here, love the extension (though I think the term is a bit too long but it can’t be helped). When we traded for him I told people he could be a point per game player and I was ridiculed for it.
Miller is the kind of guy you win with. He will drag a team kicking and screaming on his back. The players should choose their own captain but to me Miller is every bit as worthy to be captain as Huggy or Petey.
People will say “but look at his tantrums”, well consider the circumstances. He was pissed off early on was because people weren’t doing their jobs. Not the captain nor the coaching staff. Even Ethan Bear says the team wasn’t prepared to play at all because nobody prepared them for games, not even Bruce. Of course a guy like Miller who wants to win and wants to stay here long term will be pissed about the situation. If he wanted out like Horvat he could’ve easily kept quiet and asked for a trade, but he never did that.
With all due respect…NO!
Captain Quinn with Alternates Petey and Miller is perfect.
The vibe I got is that it more Hughes then Pettersson
I still think Petey can be the captain. Media scrums be damned. He does his leading on the ice. Quinn would still be the media guy as the alternate
Although I wouldn’t hate Quinn as the captain at all. I think he’d be great as well
Hopefully giving Quinn the “C” will add more incentive for him to stay. He’s been carving out his own path here and it would be nice for him to see it through. I know it must be tough because his parents and brothers must want him in NJ.
