Remember last year against Calgary. We lost the first game but then went on to win 4 straight. OIlers are typically slow starters. It will turn around.
First period, Oilers were kicking butt. Like I have never seen Oilers play like this ever. Myself thinking Oilers own the series. Then second, third, appeared they slowed down, nothing like the first period. I was so wrong about Oilers owning.
A Game 1 loss doesn't mean much for this team. In the McDavid era, the Oilers won Game 1 only once (against the Ducks) and even went up 2-0 but lost that series. In all the series they won (against the Sharks, Kings, Flames), they lost Game 1.
Maybe just pair McDavid with Draisaitl and trust nuge with 2nd line center. Ya know sometimes you just gotta be able to deliver the knockout punch more then you need to survive
This is crazy, Not an Oilers fan here, but interested in what they have to say. They seem to be the only team in the NHL that talks about how good they are. Other teams don't really do that. The other teams stay humble, and just win. LA hasn't opened their mouth yet. Oilers fans, and media talk as if they have it wrapped up. Haven't they gone 30 plus years without a cup?
A reminder that every win must be earned in the playoffs. There must be no sense of entitlement. It is a good thing to get a loss like this over with sooner rather than later. An important wake up call. I know this team will respond and be stronger, more disciplined, and more motivated.
I just want to say for all the losers that threw garbage on the ice go home your not true oilers fans. Yes the refs were bad yes the game turned in LAs favour that’s playoffs you can’t act like a little chilled and throw a tantrum because your favourite team lost. It’s one game out of hopefully 7 the oilers weren’t going to go 16-0 in the playoffs they will lose some games.
