  1. And that right there kids is why Dal is #2 and Minn is #3. Dumba ss needed the smirk wiped off his face from game 1 and that sure did it. But come friday I'm sure Reaves and Dummy will be back in their usual form in front of the home crowd. Dallas has a good road record….get ready.

  2. Sooo you didn't see all those penalties in game 1? Yes Suter cross checked Kiparsov but that's not compare to all those uncalled penalties they was putting on Stars. It was like the Refs was giving the game to Minnesota.
The Wild are a dirty team, even their Coach said so

  3. Gus didn’t play enough games to be a Vezina finalist, same reason Bishop didn’t get his

  4. As a stars fan I’m all for the misconducts being given at the end. Get the goons like reaves and foligno off the ice before they try to jump heiskanen or Robertson

  5. Very frustrating being a wild fan and a leafs fan FLEURY STINKS! IF the wild lose this series it's because of tonight

  6. Wild fans do not want Fleury. Many of us wanted Gus last year during the playoffs too. When I saw Fleury was playing I knew we were going to lose.

  7. Gustaffson had a solid season and is a great goalie, but if he had the same defense as he did last night the score wouldnt have been that much different. The quality of chances in game 2 compared to game 1 is night and day. Wilds defense was non existent. This is what happened on the second half of game 1. And while the wild got the W on the back of Gustafsson, that type of game isnt going to last long in the playoffs.

The wild needs the offense they had the start of game 1, or they will be run over no matter who is in net. Game 1 wasnt a decisive win at all, just proved a point that it is possible for the wild to steal a game. They need to step it up. At the same time Dallas cant let up now. Blowouts mean nothing in the playoffs and they are going to need to steal one in MN

  8. A staggering level of stupidity displayed by Dean Evason to sit his hot goalie. It's actually unbelievable. Dumbfounding.

  9. Watching Evason's post game presser made me understand the Wild's playoff hopes are doomed as he clearly indicated that he is committed to continuing to alternate his goalies and has zero problem sitting the hot hand. Absolutely astonishing. I hate being a MN sports fan.

  10. As a stars fan Fleury could have played better, but when you're guys are turning it over constantly and killing penalties it puts a lot of extra work on your goalie. Wild will need to be better defensively and the stars will need to stay disciplined going to Minnesota

  11. I got a text from the NHL during the game that I also got a 10-minute misconduct! I was beginning to think there wouldn't be anyone left on the ice by the time the game was over. Way too many calls being missed on both sides. I understand the "let them play" mindset, but so much was going on right in front of the referees.

  12. Horrible cross checks not called and Deans coaching not pulling flower after that super man lateral play when the guy just came straight at him blows my mind

  13. I hope the Wild don't persist platooning goalies, go with the hot hand in a series. Oettinger showed last season he can extend a series, don't give Dallas easy ways to get back into it. 🤔

  14. wonder what the win/loss of a road team winning both road games in a series when the lower seed

  15. Put the loss on Evason. He seems clueless how to adjust lines. You see Zuccarello playing bottom 6 level and Dean has no idea how to pair strengths! We hope to see EK and Hartman back. There are certainly better pairings for these particular players.

The referee should have called Merril high stick as a major to review and no penalty due to stick lift by Dallas player!!!

This is brewing up to an absolute brawl! The refs are horrendous! The league needs to supervise these non-calls. Refs better start calling the cheapshots on Kirill! It is getting out of hand. If Dallas takes out Kirill, I don't think it will be a shoulder shrug and move on! We're looking at a brawl…

  16. Minnesota, 52 minutes of penalties, 9 penalties, Dallas got 7 power plays. Dallas, 30 minutes of penalties.

  17. Dallas fans complaining about the refs is absolutely wild. Bunch of casuals that think every check on a Dallas player should be a penalty.

  18. Stars flopping left and right and the refs consistently giving them PPs. Obvious calls being ignored for the Wild(Kaprizov cross check counter has to be in triple digits by now).

MN probably not winning this game regardless, but holy hell can they at least pretend they're trying to call it fairly?

  19. The Wild just play worse in front of Fleury than they do Gus and it's just baffling. He doesn't deserve all this hate. As a former goalie I would say only one, maybe two, were his fault. Boldy was a complete ghost, we couldn't break out of our zone to save our lives, and kept giving odd-man rush after odd-man rush. Reading comments on our subreddit gameday thread just bashing Fleury was infuriating beyond belief. You would think the "State of Hockey" would have a little more hockey intellect.

(I AM NOT SAYING THAT FLEURY DOES NOT DESERVE SOME OF THE BLAME, JUST THAT IT SHOULD BE THE ENTIRE TEAM. YES, GUS SHOULD PLAY GAME 3)

  20. It got punchie because the wild are the dirtiest team in the league

  21. I feel like Evason knew they were going to get lit up in game 2. He probably figured Fleury would handle the onslaught better mentally than his young goalie because why else would you start him over the clearly better goalie

  22. Stars fan here. You notice how the team has played 100x more focused and determined after the Pav hit in 2nd period of game 1. They have been the dominate team in 6 straight periods now including OTs. That hit has solidified this team and may be determine this series when all is said and done. You love to see a team that really comes together and rallies after that kind of adversity.

  23. It’s been well documented that hockey teams in the playoffs get real sus with their injury reports. Players play on some ridiculous injuries. I wonder if Gustavsson told coaches he tweaked something or had some kind of minor issue. It’s not out of the question and would add some badly needed context

  24. The wild are a dirty team. I’m waiting for them to run another cheap shot on hintz or hieskanen, you can tell by their coach he looks suspect and reaves reminds me of the old enforcer type

  25. The Wild are paying Ryan Suter to cross check Kaprizov in the ribs when they are no where near the puck.

  26. Not starting Gustavsson was a bad move. I get why they did it, but he had an amazing game 1. They should have let him ride it

  27. Phantom offsides on a Boldy breakaway to possibly tie the game?
A lot of no calls? New to hockey, is this normal for the playoffs?
    Go Wild!

  28. Two interesting points about the Roope Hintz hat trick last night. 1: this is the first time a Dallas Star has scored a playoff hat trick in the American Airlines Center. Hell, even when the Stars played at Reunion Arena, they didn't have any home hat tricks. All previous hat tricks were either with the North Stars or in the 2020 bubble courtesy of Pavelski, Gurianov, and Kiviranta. 2: Roope Hintz became the first player since Mario Lemieux to score an even strength goal, powerplay goal, and shorthanded goal in three separate periods of one game (although I don't remember if it was playoff specific or not.) I mentioned to my dad that Hintz was close to completing a so-called "Lemieux hat trick" since he had three of five ways to score, which is still impressive. I didn't know that Hintz had managed to match an entirely separate Mario Lemieux feat until hearing that on the radio after the game.

  29. No idea what Dean Evason was thinking putting MAF in for Gustavsson. Fleury doesn’t even have the same reflexes and coordination as 5 years ago. Fleury always let’s in way too many softies. I get the resting idea and that the Wild tandem is used to that but this is the playoffs. You ride the hot streak of the best goalie.

  30. Minnesota was always going to have a tough time in this game, with Dallas losing home ice in game one there was no way they wouldn't come out buzzing. What is shocking is that Evanson started Fleury, despite Gus having a great game immediately prior, being the better goalie all season, and with Fleury's abysmal playoff performance the previous year. He played the breakaways really poorly, let in a couple softies, and was constantly out of position. If his defense hadn't been clearing out his bad rebounds Dallas could have easily had 10.

Minnesota didn't play particularly well, the Stars did. When the Wild started to climb back into the game and Fleury needed to make a save or two to keep them in the game he let them down. You can't count on your goalie to stop every high danger chance. You need to be able to count on them to stop some of them and not let in multiple soft goals. This has been a trend all season with Fleury. He lets in a goal on the first shot against (be it a soft goal or not) and he just completely disintegrates.

Hopefully Evanson will learn from his mistake and play Gus the rest of the series so the Wild have at least some chance.

And I totally agree, the Refs have been terrible this series. They have been calling all sorts of questionable stuff against both teams, and not calling egregious penalties by both of them. Pretty much mirrors this season, NHL refs really need to work on consistency.

Hintz had an outstanding game also.
