A.J. Greer crosscheck and Mike Hoffman slash – Tough Call Suspension recommendation

A.J. Greer crosschecked Mike Hoffman in the face. There’s no excuse for that and he should haw gotten more than the one game handed out by the NHL’s Department of Player Safety. Mike Hoffman did slash him on the wrist though. Hard to punish one without acknowledging the other.

  1. Can't believe you went soft on Sergachev. Slewfoot is slewfoot, even if the leg bang is not severe.

  2. I’m surprised Greer only got one game from the NHL for this. I thought at least two, maybe three games by their usual standard. Although I guess it’s really my fault for expecting some consistency from the NHL’s department of player safety.

  3. I agree with your assessment. The "gamesmanship" crap that "hockey purists" love so much (the slashes, cross checks in front of the net, face washing, etc.), are what need to be removed from the game.

  4. Im a Bs fan and I pretty surprised he only got one game. Damn, he fed him his stick pretty bad there. Players need to keep their cool, thats just totally not a good move for your team.

  5. Greer's first hit was to the hands, so I would give him the same fine as Hoffman(or nothing for either hand slash) as well as the suspension for the hit to the face.

  6. Where's the suspension for Hoffman? I mean he might have damaged Greer's stick with his chin. (sarcasm alert) The NHL is a joke when it comes to these things. The only thing that would make it a little less than random is how they favour certain teams. I love hockey but I hate the NHL, their obviously contrived refereeing, and their fake concern for player safety. It's all about managing violence for profit. And it's shameful. The NHL is a disgrace to professional sports. They're making lots of money though so nobody will care.
