The Avs manage to tie the series, so the pressure is on Seattle heading home to regain that lead.

The avs didn't give him away we offered him a deal and he wanted more money period. They tried to keep him he actually left us high and dry and we had to give up Barron just to get Kemper.
So unhappy, all the teams I wanted to win lost instead.
Chanting "ref you suck" does NOT help the team, dummies!
I was at that game. Shock is the perfect word.
I'm a pretty casual fan but this had to have been one of the most exciting games ever, at least for periods 2 and 3
The Avalanche wanted to keep Grubauer actually. He left and took less money than Sakic offered him. Good riddance!!
0:01 – and if you’re an Avs fan, for that same amount of time, you were probably thinking “maybe next season” seriously I was just taken out of the game. I was ready to accept a series loss. It looked like the Avs had absolutely zero interest in defending the cup. But I want to thank the Kraken player who blew the kiss and the game right back to us! Ha!
I don't know what happened. I assume they brought in the Letterkenny coach and Bednar said that they were 10-ply.
Grubauer is playing the best hockey he's played in a long time. Thank God the Avs found a way last night.
Evan Rodriguez absolutely was the MVP of this game. He was out there getting the dirty work done and setting the physicality tone.
The boos after the first period were because of a shitty late hit
Welcome back to Earth Seattle
I still think Seattle has a chance to upset the champs. Grub looks dialed in against his old team and Seattle has been great on converting on chances they get.
"Refs being supported" 😂
It was either a mediocre goalie or our captain. I think we made the right choice.
If grubauer played like this in Colorado we'd have won three cups recently
As a Seattle fan I’m thrilled with the split in Colorado. I thought we needed at least one given how we play on the road. I was worried if we came home 0-2 we might get swept. Most importantly, Grubauer is playing great through 2. If he keeps this up Seattle has a chance. Seattle definitely needs to take at least one of the next 2 games to win the series or push it to 7. Can’t wait to see how they show up at home and what the crowd at Climate Pledge is like.
I'm just happy to be here!
If you said Kraken would be 1-1 and the loss was a one goal game I take that all day. Disappointed how the last game got away from them but fair play to the Avs for flipping the switch. Will be a fun series.
THG putting in the work when he clearly isn't feeling well. Again, we are not worthy
The boos at the end of the first were because of a hit away from the play near the bench the crowd thought should have been called (I missed who exactly it was). I don't think it should've been called… but that's what the boos were about (certainly stoked by some frustration as well, for sure)
The 'you let me go and made a mistake' thing for grubauer cracks me up. We won the cup. He wanted money instead. No brainer.
Grubeaur is a good goilie. He wasnt able to stay healthy for the Avs, and I think thats why they went that way.
It's not so much that the Avs woke up, but also the Kraken appeared to visibly tire – second to pucks, slow to check… And don't forget they're playing a highly physical, cardio-intensive sport at altitude. And even with this, if Seattle had buried their breakaways/odd-man rushes, it could very well be 2-0. I'm not predicting a winner, but I expect the series to go at least 6 games, and likely 7.
Nichushkin and Makar were skating in wet cement in the first and cam out guns blazing in period two. It was like they both took a double shot of caffeine. What a wild swing from the first to second period.
Avs definitely woke up and looked more like themselves starting in period 2 ❤
I'm interested to see if home ice turns out to be a disadvantage like it was in the regular season. This series seems to be much more closely matched than I expected, but once the Avalanche got going, they looked unstoppable. It only took them 80 mins. 😏
Aint no "might" about it, colorado has the best defense, period. Don't try to change my mind because you'll be wrong trying to do so.
What a great comeback for the Avalanche!
Saying Gru had a good game is a bit misleading with how bad his rebound control was. Also why do people keep saying they gave him away, he left as UFA?!? They chose to not pay what Seattle was willing to pay.
Colorado basically got outplayed for 2/3 of the game. But they won. Nuff said.
The biggest difference between period 1 and 2 was the lack of physical play by my Kraken. The entire 1st game and 1st period, the Avs looked scared to have the puck because every time they had the puck they were getting hit. In the 2nd period, we stopped taking the body entirely and the Avs started just swarming. 3rd period they started out taking the body and looked better but then they stopped. I think they just got tired, a few days at altitude, with super physical play, just ran out of steam. Just seemed like a night and day difference in the Avs when they were getting hit vs when they weren't. Key to victory for Seattle is to continue playing the body, Avs don't like getting played physically.
0:15 They're scary? They beat you by 1 goal? That's scary? 😆
I remember Grubauer looked great in the first 2 games of the Vegas series a few years ago and then completely collapsed. He is way too inconsistent and doesn't stay healthy enough for that 5.9M cap hit. Great first two games by Gru but wouldn't be surprised to see him fall back to Earth like he's done in the past.
Just got into hockey about 2 weeks ago and im obsessed. GO KRAKEN!!
We didn't give Grubauer away, he signed with the Kraken of his own volition.
Bowen Byram. Leafs need to draft a guy like him, badly.
Krakens forecheck reminds me a lot of the avs forecheck last post season.
Colorado didn't give Grubauer away. Grubauer chose to go to Seattle. Seattle out bid Colorado. He chased the money after a mediocre series against Vegas (the rest of the team also didn't play great that series). If anyone should be salty about Grubauer going to Seattle it should be the Avs fans who loved him while he was in CO.
This was a really fun game
How can NHL referees be so terrible They ruined that game They destroyed it that wasn't a game obviously they decided avalanche was going to win that game but people aren't stupid
God great playoffs going and then NHL steps in to ruin a game and it really sucks
When Colorado goes Yeti foot stomp mode…. scary
