My buddy has been begging me for years to get into hockey, as a lifelong football guy I never really cared to get into it. One day I caved in and bought the NHL game so we could run online together, the first thing it does is make you pick your favorite team. I took this seriously as the team I chose right then was gonna be my favorite team in real life, after 20 minutes of dissecting each logo I landed on the Avs. I had no idea if they were good or not, the playoffs rolled around and I told my buddy I’m gonna watch a few games, I saw the Avs were making a run so I had watched them having NO CLUE what was going on lmao one thing I noticed was they were really good on the power play during their cup run last year. Anyway this year I actually dialed in a bit more and watched when I could (wish I would’ve picked an east coast team😂) but fast forward to today I find myself watching every single playoff game, I can’t turn it off. I’m still very much learning the sport but I found myself super invested in them winning last night against the Kraken like I’ve been a fan all my life. The atmosphere was incredible, physical game and one hell of a comeback. I felt like I was watching my Bengals 😂
I decided to make my first hockey video on this channel bc if I did another NFL mock draft I might’ve jumped off a bridge. The support on this video has been incredible and you guys seem super excited have a new fan of the league if you all have any huge hits, amazing plays, injuries or anything hockey related you’d want me to react to just let me know under this comment I’d be thrilled to! Peace homies and go Avs 😆
People don’t understand how sharp skates are. You skate on two razor blade edges, it’s amazing more guys don’t get cut.
Upper body/lower body injury…..remember hockey players have sticks in there hands. Its very easy to whack a guy without anyone seeing, and if he knows where you are hurt, back to the locker room you go. Thats why they do it that way, in case some of you dont already know that.
Edit: Also look up clint malarchuk. You wanna see blood and a guy almost die due to a skate blade. Youve been warned.
Hockey is the greatest sport in the world for so many reasons.
I watched one soccer game and saw some pigeon fake an injury, and I stopped watching for life. 😂
That is just a hockey player and how hockey players are. It is a team game, it invovles hitting and fights, and your team needs to have your back, and you need to have your teammates backs. You can only do that on the ice.
Seen many guys get cut, then stitched, come back, skate a shift, then the TV camera shows them, still bleeding. The stitches were only there to slow the bleeding enough so that they can play.
Junior hockey at its highest levels often has guys who will be poor if they do not make the NHL. They grew up with fathers that were farmers and loggers m, and they will be too, unless they make the NHL. It makes for guys who are willing to play rough. To make it there, you must be tough.
I've had lots of stitches…there ain't no 75 stitches on his face.
Ondrej Palat got smashed in the mouth with a high stick, lost a few teeth, went into the locker room, got stitches, came back out onto the ice, and scored
You gotta be made of some hard shit to play this sport
That's the difference between the NBA racist wimps and true athletes in the NHL. They're tall and can shoot a hoop; big deal. You have to be able to skate well to play hockey. for starters, not to mention being able to handle the puck and shoot, and take a hit. NBA sucks, NHL rules.
WTF is going on with Lebrons foot? Dear lord I think I should seek therapy after seeing that lol.
Because hockey players are tough and basketball players are not.
I'm Canadian, been part of the game for most of my life… But what some of these guys do, come playoff time, is downright reckless, foolhardy… P. Bergeron played with a punctured lung, and broken ribs, a couple of years back… didn't he? That's NUTS!!!
the reason they dont specify injuries is to avoid opposing players targeting them lol. They wont disclose injuries during playoffs either because a quarter of the team will be playing injured. Only find out after they are eliminated.
Happy to hear you’re getting into hockey. It really is the weirdest sport when it comes to unwritten rules and chivalry
Hockey is the best sport in the world imo.

Hands down hockey players are the toughest athletes on the face of the earth. Take any other sport and put them on skates then I’ll reconsider.
Go Blues
And Barrons first shift back out he went straight for a hit to the boards on a guy.
Hockey guys are some of the toughest athletes around.
Type in Borje Salming 200 stitches those who know, know.
This is how I compare hockey to soccer as well. There is no comparison!
Welcome to hockey. There is lots of speed and skill and it’s a very exciting sport to watch (when people aren’t taking skates to the face)
thats what separates real men in sports vs whatever they are called in soccer.
Canadians love a good scrap, if you don't believe me just pick a fight with one , but make sure your dental plan is paid up
The Stanley cup is hands down the toughest trophy to win of all professional sports in the world! A lot of other sports playoffs just do not compare in intensity!
this man spittin bars
One of my favorite player's, Johnny Boychuk's, career was ended because he caught a skate to the eye. One of the scariest things I've seen in sports.
I can't even watch soccer for this reason, total pansies
A blade actually has 2 blades. It's a beveled type thing.
how the fudge do you stack 75 stiches into a 3 inch gash?
Being born and raised in Tennessee, I never cared for hockey. I’d go to a few local SPHL games, but that was it. Then, I went to Nashville and there was a Preds playoff game going on. I didn’t go, but remember walking around downtown and seeing the gold jerseys, Preds billboards and yard signs everywhere. It intrigued me so I bought an EA NHL game. The more I played, the more I learned the rules and before I knew it, I fell in love with hockey. Now, I love watching Predators games (except the digital ads are very distracting)! It’s actually surpassed basketball and baseball for me, which at one time was unimaginable.
Dude broke into my house years ago.
My dogs tore him up.
He had over 7000 stitches in his head alone.
Over 10000 staples.
Never tell a guy you are coming to kill his family and not know anything about them.
I told the guy, I got a surprise for you.
Boy was he surprised.
My hats off to the life flight crew that kept him from dying to do 40 years in prison.
And think about the contracts. Highest NBA contract is 48 mil per year for Curry…McKinnon is the highest paid NHL player at 12.6 mil per year. Same amount of games. NBA players take at least 10 extra rest(missed games) days. I know, it’s the tv contracts that allow the higher salaries. But cmon…
It's good that hockey isnt popular. The fans are the best. We dont need or want the sport to go hollywood. It would ruin it for us hardcore fans. Ive been watching since the 80s. I dont want to share an arena with aholes and trendy pop culture normies. I like how it's inaccessible like soccer is for Americans. People who want hockey to be more popular are just insecure and need validation. Oh please like my sport!! They arent real hockey fans either. They dont get it. Go watch Slap Shot and then you might get it haha
That is why the NBA and their thugs can cease to exist on this planet and I wouldn't care! Instead, I will be so happy! 😂
Always true unless you're a Canadian basketball player. Steve Nash to a nasty cut to the nose and stayed in. Broadcast team joked it was his Canadian as in hockey heritage. 😂
If you go to minor leagues games (often free admission), like midget and bantam, where the kids are big enough to check — stand by the glass right beside the players skating by and pounding bodies into the boards and glass. I did that to a Brazilian student who played soccer — he did jump at the first heavy check inches away. Also the little kids are hilarious when they play, chasing each other all over the ice with varying degrees of success. Sometimes they slap the puck, and the puck wins and sends them flat on the ice.
They are both WOKE and support cutting off children's genitals, you only see a rainbow after it rains… MLB is still pure for now, only pro sport worth watching anymore, come on folks get it out the people will come back!!!
Goalie skates are generally less sharp than skaters too. Could’ve been even worse.
Gotta love a sport that will stop play time so two guys and bare knuckle box in the middle of the game lol also search up the mountain bikers vs soccer players compilation vids, so funny
Some dudes don't like the cold weather, you know what I'm talking about.
Look up some of Don Cherry's Rock Em Sock Em stuff 😉
There's one thing every hockey player dreams of and will do whatever it takes including playing stitched up or broken bones, and that is to get their name on the Stanley Cup. The ultimate goal of any player.
Shocked that Simmons was able to stand
Yeah they are not men…..
As a lifelong hockey fan and a casual basketball fan…I've never understood trash talk…l always hear it's part of the game…only when you know you can't get punched in the face…I've always thought basketball is weak…never understood it's popularity…I'll take football and hockey over it anyday
This video has racist undertones.
Ryan Hartman played injured for game 1. The announcers kept saying there's no way he stays in the whole game. He not only stayed in, but scored the game winning goal in OT.
I tried to go to a couple of my local sports bars to watch the NHL playoffs and they told me that all the TVs are for watching basketball.
