Anders Juengst | Callahan 2021

Born and raised in Arlington, Anders helped start the ultimate club as a freshman at Yorktown High School. Anders admired the intense competition and the bonds he formed with his teammates at Yorktown, an aspect of his ultimate persona that continued to grow once he joined UNC Darkside in 2016. An unfortunate loss to UNC-Wilmington in the semifinals of the College Championships upended his freshman campaign with Darkside, but Anders used that experience to fuel the work ethic he is known for today. In 2018, Anders help the team win the National Championship, tallying 7 goals and 12 assists during the tournament. The following year, Darkside finished as the national runner-up with Anders leading the team as a captain. His continued evolution as a menace on the field earned him Ultiworld’s “Offensive Player of the Year” in 2020, dominating both around the ball and in the downfield space, making his defenders’ lives miserable. While Anders may be the smallest body on the field, his reputation and play is far from that. Although Anders is the core of the Darkside O-line, his defensive skills are top notch, playing both lockdown defense and making huge plays to put his team in winning positions. Anders embodies the combination of competitive spirit, leadership, and integrity that Darkside values and is our well-deserved Callahan nominee for 2021.

  1. Wow, he does so many little things right. In terms of understanding the game, he's miles ahead of anyone in college and honestly quite a few people in the pros already.
