I want a stats/analytics nerd that will make high percentage decisions based on trends and will keep his personal feelings on the backburner.
Feel like that's the way to go for the rebuild too, if said GM is still there at that time. He would draft with some sense. He'd formulate logical long term plans. He'd know how to manage his cap.
No more dinosaurs. No more old boys club.
Give me Tulsky or Dubas or something. We need someone very smart throughout this delicate process.
Hire Tulsky yesterday!
Thanks for starting our Monday here in Newfoundland with some wonderful reflections on our Pens.
Hoping Dubus will come to Pittsburgh but why in the world would Toronto ever let go their best GM in ages! Maybe the only thing would be to offer him the "President of Hockey Ops" – or whatever it will be called. Doubt it will happen.
During the dog days of summer maybe you could do a shot on who you think are some of the best GM's in Pens history….I was a fan of Red Kelly back in the day!

Asking for specifics in short form questionnaire is a ridiculous ask. Also, if you don’t think changing systems for the defense to not pinch and more discipline on utilizing your centers is crazy, maybe you aren’t watching the games.. The ability to change system in the game has always, and will always be vital in coaching. He either doesn’t have the ability to change out of ignorance or he’s a stubborn leader. Putting your players in the best situation to succeed is always the highest form of leadership .
