Has anyone ever told Scotty that he looks like Drake Batherson?
Now Stevie is gonna trade up to number 2 in this years draft and take Adam Fantilli
I thought for sure steve was going to trade for Colton Paraynko after Hronek went to VAN
Wings better use some of these picks for guys who won’t get run outta the rink. Performance in Ottawa was pathetic.
Strange that the 1st is protected. I guess it would be a lottery pick which is unlikely since it is the Bruins…so for a late 1st round next year. That is about all you can expect TBH
Not a fan of Bert going to Boston. After the Wings lost the semi finals in 2013 we moved to the Atlantic Division and besides Datsyuk's 1 goal we got swept by Boston. This was the death knell of the dynasty. The wings went on to lose in the 1st round against the lighting the next 2 seasons and haven't see the playoffs since. Giving Bert to Boston is a perfect way to say we're good with Boston continuing to dominate.
GREAT return for the Red Wings!
Why not trade Zadina…..he's done even fucking less than Bertuzzi…. and Bert still put up a decent amount of points despite missing games were as other guys may as well have missed games….
BOOOOOOO
When is the "rebuilding" ever going to end? I'm really sick of this generation of the "Dead Things". I suffered enough during the original Dead Things run.
good for tyler, he'll have his name on the stanley cup this year. LOL
Suspect Bert was asking for too much and SY had to get some value because he was going to walk.
Hate to see Bert gone, but I don’t think we were resigning him anyway. I’m good with both of these trades.
I love Bert. But he has been frustratingly good over the last few years. Talented with grit and goes to the corner. The Wings are not the dregs of the NHL anymore and lots of young talent. Even if the Wings signed Bert he was likely not going to be a factor when the Wings become what they are growing into. I wish him luck, he didn't do anything to dislike him for.
How do you think the Bert trade was compared to Hronek trade? I would have thought the return for Bert would have been what we got for Hronek and vice versa.
Good job Scotty 🙌
Stevie has enough capital to make a huge trade in the off-season for a BIG name
I wonder if the return was a little bit less than it could have been. Boston will be a magnificent team for at least another couple of years, so this 1st will likely be a late pick, and we saw a guy like Jeannot (read: Bertuzzi with less offensive capabilities) get a pick in each of the first 5 rounds as his return.
Bye Bart good luck in Boston ,Detroit should of got cryduc instead of sens need defence badly
Not a fan of this trade it all. This one’s gonna come back to bite them.
Great. Now the Wings hav EVEN LESS GRIT. WTF?
Look for 5 to 6 straight losses, obviously NO PLAYOFFS.
Bertuzzi probably come back and sign with the wings in off season
I see some fans talking about how this trade will hurt us we are going to miss his "grit"? For what? So we can pick in the middle of the draft? You're just letting your emotions overcloud your judgement. Wouldn't it make more sense to sell off and hope that with 20 games left we can tank enough that we can score a top 4 pick(the #1C we need)? MAYBE EVEN BEDARD HIMSELF? We have enough average-above average players, we are missing ELITE. That is the dream scenario here. Not fighting for a Wildcard while watching our red faces get smashed up and down the ice by the freaking Ottawa Senators of all teams. Also, if we have draft luck we can retool in the offseason and if Bert really want to be here theres still a possibly we can resign him. Sell of, pray to win this draft lottery and we are in business.
I still want us to resign him
Fu*k!!! Bert is my spirit animal!! This makes me sad. Like really sad…. But maybe Bert has a shot at the cup this year. Boston has just become that much better
Why isn't the Locked On Red Wings podcast available on Google Podcasts anymore?
Who gives a shit about the Copp and Chiarot contracts now? Can everyone stfu about it? Please
Team has 30 million in cap space this offseason and needs to resign no one, plus a really, really weak free agent class this year.
Trust the yzerplan. It hurts seeing guys like Hronek and especially Bertuzzi go but I look back to the very beginning of the Tampa dynasty. He traded Lecavalier, St. Louis, lots of fan favorites for the better of the future. Yzerman is one of the few GMs who can see past all of the emotions for what the player is and execute for the best chance at building a serious contender.
Wings look like shit now..
