The Sharks are at a cross roads. They have vets on long term contracts, but also need some young stars to get them back into a playoff spot.

Oh!
Been waiting for this one
It's gonna be a while haha enjoy it baby
As a Sharks fan, my expectations are a long rebuild, maybe several more years before they could be in the postseason again. Despite falling two wins short of a Cup, they were competitive for a good amount of years and are now paying for it.
Horrible team. Who would have think San Jose would fall so low so fast, feels like just yesterday they were in finals with Pittsburgh.
Sharks don’t need a rebuild, they just need takers for EK, Vlasic, and Couture. Then they can go out and get quality FA’s and get back into the playoffs 😅
Another one bites the dust
I don’t want San Jose to get Bedard but at the same time seeing Bedard in San Jose and Cooley in Arizona would be so good for the West Coast
Second favourite team
Ekholm is better for Edmonton. The Oily bois need to get tougher, just like the Maple Laughs.
seems like the worst time ever to be a sharks fan
Despite EK's magnificent season offensively SJ quietly had a dreadful season.
16-44-22 after 60 minutes and only 6 wins after 60 minutes. They lost 60 times…one more than Anaheim. 25th in GF (imagine them w/o Karlsson in that regard) and 30th in GA. They need help everywhere.
We don't need new offensive forwards. The offense is there, but there is a lack of physicality. We need a new aspect of a defense line with Karlsson as the defensive leader, as we all know Karlsson can't go anywhere. I expect Reimer to leave for free agency leaving Kappo as their only experienced goaltender we have, who has an expiring contract this coming season. We need a new goaltending line more than defense or Bedard honestly. They just need to draft elite D-men and elite goaltenders.
I think we need to be bad for at least 2 more seasons after this one. A quick turnaround will mean no cup yet again. We need to build for the long term
This is why I though Vancouver should have traded Boeser there in the off season, or Garland or some other winger, because they were not going for a rebuild but I was sure they were going to suck. Ya, they would have protected their 1st round pick, but would they have protected it if Vancouver traded their 1st as well? Like Garland and our 1st for theirs and a prospect D-man?
It was a miserable season, and there's more on the way. At least I got to see them play during the preseason here in Germany this year!
Can they take down the Doug Wilson banner lol? He put this team in such a bad spot. It's gonna be another 3-4 years of awful hockey unless someone is willing to trade for Couture, Vlasic and Karlsson….. not likely.
Bright side, we don't have to worry about another playoff choke anytime soon
I hope they do follow through on a full rebuild. It might hurt but at least the team will have a direction. I'm almost worried however that getting bedard will convince them to try and compete immediately and doom themselves to years of mediocrity
Gonna be a long couple of seasons for us Sharks fans. Don’t see the team really doing good any time soon. Need to build back up the prospect pool since we threw it all away to try for a cup. Hopefully Hertl, Eklund, Bordeleau, Karlsson can be the guiding light for the Sharks.
they will make playoffs in 2024 as the 2nd wildcard
This is a team with four or five guys who have played a little on entry level contracts and none of these guys seem that good. So it seems like they are a long way from being relevant again.
They couldn't get Karlsson traded despite his Norris trophy/100 point season.
he won't be that good again .
*Sigh
I also think the Nieto trade was underrated, like Kaut and Macdonald looked both pretty decent when in the line up
Hope San Jose turns it around quickly tho, I miss when the California road trip used to be the Valley of Death
These videos are great especially as a person who follows other teams, it’s good to get an in depth look on how others are doing.
Can't wait for the Jets video tomorrow. Sigh
