[Baugh] Cale Makar: “Probably the first call in history to go from nothing to a major to a minor to a suspension.” He reiterated his intent was not to injure and said he thought the puck was going to fall into the corner. “It’s unfortunate (an injury) was the result.”

Hit was still dirty.
I know that’s not who Makar is, but it doesn’t change the fact that he blindsided the Krakens top scorer and took him out for at least a game.
I just had a dream that Cale asked for gum at an airport. He took my entire pack. He’s totally a criminal. Dude probably called his Mom to tell her he fleeced someone.
🤣 I’m actually cracking up over what my subconscious came up with.
McCann let up because he realized the play was dead. Makar thought the puck was coming down so continued because whistle hadn’t been blown. McCann got hurt because he didn’t prepare to get hit. All of that aside, two refs looked at the video replays and deemed it a minor penalty. Makar’s point is that: two refs said not a major penalty, but then there is a suspension for a guy with no history of playing recklessly? Doesn’t make sense.
Do not read the Twitter comments. I’ve lost so many braincells
I don’t think Cale deserved a suspension for that hit. To me, it seemed pretty routine – a guy lays a big hit on someone before he knows the puck has gone out of play.
I hope Cale traumatizes the entire city of Seattle so bad Friday (and Sunday) that they will be unable to eat kale salads or drink kale smoothies for the rest of their days.
