In all seriousness, it might be time to start supporting the Lynx. They may not be one of the “four major sports teams”, they may not be the most exciting to watch, but at least they don’t completely collapse in the playoffs.
I blame our entire crime rate on this because MN sports teams make you want to do some very stupid shit.

To add insult to injury, I only remember 6 of those 50 they even made it to the semis (3 for vikes and 1 time for the other 3).
My question for the last several years has been: why? Why is this outcome tied to a geography when the owners, coaches, players, etc usually are not from the area. Is it politics that makes an inhospitable environment to winning championships? Seems like there’s way too many variables between politics and the game much less playoffs and the championship. Is it fans attitudes and mentality? Even if it were, I think that would only impact a team if they were playing at home which isn’t always the case.
I was a grade schooler during both of those championships. Recall thinking…”wow, we really get that hardware a lot!”

I’m pretty sure someone made a deal with the devil that a Minnesota sports team will have a dynasty. And the devil being coy made the dynasty for the lynx.

Well thats why i love em. They’re the plucky babyface that just doesnt seem to ever have enough. But that’s ok cuz the chase will make it all the more satisfying once they finally reach their goal
The problem here is that this is not a game of chance, and statistics don’t work like that in competitions where things are not all equal. Just as a man with a broken leg won’t win a foot race at the usual rate these teams will not win their % expected when bad moves are made. I bring it back to ownership as the ultimately responsible party. Certainly businesses can fail higher than average and continually when they’re given cash to waste. The big clubs need someone to beat to be champions. Maybe we’re just cannon fodder and it’s a conspiracy, or maybe we’re not competitive enough to attract the right offices to be the best.
