Or the Leafs who went 16 whole years without winning a playoff round. Its easy to sit back and say its easy to win and make a long run in the playoffs, but it is really not. Since 2018 the Jets have been one of the better teams at making the playoffs. Blake Wheeler is the natural leader, because he is who everyone views as the leader. Its not about the letter. He has been around the longest and takes the younger players under his wing. The letter is pretty meaningless, when a veteran player doing what needs to be done in the background and all the players admit this. Yes we are all disappointed they got knocked out in the first round, but they finished in the middle of the standings. Not the worst place to be. Changes will be made, but it obviously won't be a rebuild.

They were a mediocre team with good goaltending last year and a mediocre team with great goaltending this year. Two years ago they were mediocre but better mediocre.
