  1. Gambling is a degenerate habit these ads on every bit of sports and sports related media is sickening.

  2. Gavrikov’s cap hit is 2.7 AAV which is really cheap. Jarmo is going to get a team that’s desperate (the leafs or kings) to over pay on deadline day

  3. Adam, as your west coast hockey guy I’ll say you are getting warm looking west but you didn’t go far enough. I’ll plant the seed. LA Kings as the landing spot.

  4. As a Columbus fan, it's crushing to see this guy go. The problem seems to be that Gavrikov wants a 5 year deal, while Columbus is only offering 3 years. Can't blame Gavy, as this is his only chance to sign a big contract. Can't blame the Jackets either after watching how David Savard aged, they aren't interested in going beyond age 30.

  5. Oilers should trade for Gavrikov and Korpisalo of CBJ. Korpisalo was amazing in bubble playoff games and now after first time beign healthy after that season, he is back to beign top goalies in the world. He will be amazing as tandem with skinner.

  6. There is a premium to trade inter-division. CBJ will ask for a first or something similar just because they are in the same division. Nic Robertson HAS NO VALUE!

  7. This one is obvious… dubass trading a first, knies and robertson… Then dubass signing him to the standard team friendly hometown discount contract of 7 years 11 million per year!!! BOOK IT!!!

  8. Defensively questionable defenseman you say? The oilers will take him! 9.5 million dollar extension? Why not!

  9. Ah so the CBJ plan is the same it always is;

    trade for a 1st rd pick, draft a kid, see him at the NHL level just enough to know he isn't ready and force him into the lineup anyway until he's no longer productive and then trade for a 1st round pick, draft a kid, …

  10. I would have said a week ago that the Leafs would not be in on him, but now I'm not sure. The one thing about Gavrikov is that he isn't known for turnovers – one of the best in the entire league for low turnovers – and this is a problem the Leafs have at the top-end of their roster. It's hard to tell if his defense is really as good as advertised though because of the team he's on. He's worth considering for Toronto – the arms race has begun and I don't think the Leafs have enough ammunition.

    I also think Sandin is like whatever. He's probably the worst defensemen the Leafs have. That won't be the case in the future, but it is right now. And if you want to exclude offense from the equation, then ditch RIelly because he's completely irresponsible. I lost track of his -2 and -3 games this year. There is a reason he is -2 on the year, which is inexcusable considering the talent he plays with and how many points he is capable of getting.
