My mom and I are going through some old boxes of memories and we stumbled across this!
She told me the story of making this right after Roger Neilson waved the flag. Her and her siblings got some old towels and markers to make them, and eventually went to the arena to cheer the team on. It was so fun hearing how the city rallied around this event and how they came out in numbers to support the team.
Thought I would share it and hopefully it can bring back some memories for others who were there too!

This is ancient but very cool
Is that a bullet hole?
A true OG Canucks playoff towel, a real piece of local history there! Very awesome, thanks for sharing!
This is so cool . The loss to Mike Bossy’s islanders hurts less then the loss in 94 .
This triggered a memory that my brother had an official white Canucks towel in the 90s. Our dog chewed a big whole in it and it got tossed but I wish we still had it.
I watched that playoff run at my local pub @ 12th and Cambie called the Jolly Alderman (kitty-corner to City Hall.)
Someone started using toilet paper during the start of that next game as a towel substitute and then everyone did… good times!
Cool but why is there a bullethole
So cool
I was 12. Made one out of a piece of paper towel haha! I think I still have it somewhere
Who got hungry?
