To all the Islanders fans who were bragging about the Horvat trade, where are you now? He's not a saviour. He's not going to lead your team to the promised land. Now you're stuck with him for 8 years. This is as good as it gets with him.
their big trade deadline signing didn't deliver. i'll tell you that for free.
Islanders rolled the dice with Horvat and now they're stuck with an 8 1/2 million dollar contract (x8) for a 40 point/year player. As a Canuck fan, I know all too well the caliber of his play and the Islander fans will soon find out that he's not worth the cap hit that will cripple the team's ability make room for improvement.

This year proved to me this team is full of average to below average NHL defensemen. Trotz had them playing like above average. Keep Romanov and Bolduc. Maybe package a couple with Lee for a trade. Roster needs a pretty major shake up. Walstrom coming back not going to save the world.
As for Horvat, get line killer Lee out and give him and Barzal someone who can skate and if he doesn't produce then…. that will be a huge problem.
