    I have noticed something disturbing in th eNHL playoffs a couple high end Russian forwards did not play very well Panarin and more so Kucherov IDK they looked tired maybe played too much maybe we need a coach who makes sure his players are rested for the playoffs it is a super long grind.
    I find it funny a guy like Kirby Dach received so much praise after a 38 pt season but Lafreniere is frowned upon.Dach was given top line ice the PP while Lafreniere was given little ice time.
    I am not big on Lafreniere but if you want to trade for Dach I would do that in a heartbeat.

    As a rangers fan I want this coach staff gone he made horrible choices all season not keep the kid line together be ok with 3 place and say so over use his backup goalie

    Wait wait wait? U mean MTL french radio suggested trading fr a French Canadien player….I'm shocked! Lol all jokes aside tho if the pick is outside of the top 5, like if they can't get at least Mitchkov I would explore the Laff option for sure, I'm not on this Will Smith train.

    There is NO WAY IN H"LL the Rangers get a top-5ish pick for a flailing failing Laffy going into his 4th NHL season having done nothing but garner Bust? chatter. Not a chance.

    I've never seen that from that angle. Suzuki/Caufield/Dach and Dubois/Slavkovski/Lafreniere, that would be 2 great line if dubois would like to be the big brother and make his both winger better… but I'm not sure about Dubois attitude.

    I hope Anaheim shows interest in trading for Laf. I can see him working out here with the young core getting top 6 minutes

    If Florida beats Toronto just maybe trade the pick. If Florida loses definitely keep the pick. This is a deep draft. Montreal is not going for the cup next year

    First round playoff exit for the NYR means heads will roll and I expect some changes up front, most likely a coaching change.

    Why bother with these players they haven't done nothing plus the attitudes they have not good draft the best you can i.e.mitchkov in a few years we will be one of the better team in the league

    Laf has reached his ceiling, probably all he will be able to do. Lofty draft expectations by some were scoffed at as he is a good skater, not a dynamic game changing forward.
    Career 20 to 25 goal scorer and probably play with about 3 teams by the time his career concludes.

    Keep the darn pick. Stay the course. The Rangers short circuited their rebuild and now find themselves shortchanged as their window of opportunity starts to close.
    Their star core is starting to get up there, still in their prime but Panarin 31, Zibanejad 29, Kreider 31, Trochek 29, Trouba 28, Goodrow 29. They have hit on a lot of high picks during their rebuild: Fox, K'Andre Miller, Chytil, but the fact that Kakko and Lafreniere haven't been as good a s hoped highlights the fact that they only stayed in rebuild mode in 2017, announced what they were doing in 2018 but then signed Panarin in the summer of 2019.
    They almost immediately brought their rebuild to a halt and are potentially heading into decline.
    They should have been drafting high for 4-5 years to load up for a long run near the top of the league.
    Montreal should not duplicate this mistake.
    "He's only 27 years of age, he's averaged [80 points] over the last four seasons he's played in the NHL, he's a healthy body," Rangers president John Davidson said of the forward. "We know he wants to be here in New York, specifically with the Rangers. It's a perfect fit."

    As a NYR fan and Laf fan, I’d love to see him go to Montreal. He needs a change of scenery. He will be a superstar in Montreal. He’s a great kid and I hope the best for him. With Kreider and Panarin in NY, his chances are going to be limited at best.

    @topshelfhockey I think the Rangers will 100% move Laf. For three reasons: 1) The longer he sits and doesn’t progress the less valuable he will be (Think Kravtsov), the logjam at LW on the Rangers, and Othmann waiting in the wings to have a role on the roster. Othmann is not 4th liner

    Laf isn't worth a bag of chipped pucks, either is Kakko. Nice drafting NYR, how's Lias Andersson, Nils Lundqvist, and Kravtsov, working out? All failed first rounders, FOUR OF THEM WERE TOP 10 OVERALL PICKS FOR GOD'S SAKE!

    If Q does come back, I doubt it's to a big market like the Rangers. The media storm would be unbearable. He probably will need to rehab his image in a smaller market for a year or two.

    For Lafreniere I would offer a deal centered around Farrell. Same age, same position and Farrell success in the NCAA and the olympics representing the US might entice the Rangers into working something out. It would save New-York some cap space since Lafreniere is RFA and it would help Montreal get a bit bigger up front.

    One could put much of this on the coach but the 'Kid' line gave them next to nothing . Zibanejad, Trocheck , Panarin gave them two goals between the three of them. Their offense dried up in this series.

    There is no proof and just made up and it’s really your fake rumor.. there is no way in hell the Rangers trade Laffy. This is such a joke made up so that you can get clicks. I will say it again that’s got to be the worst. Rumor I ever heard Laffy will not be traded.

    Should there be trade talks, Montreal's offer should be no more than '23 second round pick or a '24 1st round pick for Lafreniere. Many '23 draft prospects have much 'up' sides!

    Lets get Bruce Cassidy. Panarin and kakko has to go. Player development needs to be looked at and reformed.

    My problem with New York is that we have a stacked top 6 that preventing kakko chyitl and laf from moving into the top 6. Its not fair to call them busts when they never get the chances like stuzle and jack hughes where each player gets PP1 time top 6 minutes and so on. These guys are stuck playing 10 minutes a game and barely touching the powerplay (30 seconds tops). The rangers suck at developing players because we always buy big names that will always outclass the rookies. Gallant is a regular season coach and should be fired, he got out coached in an in what I think was a winnable series in 5. I don't know about choosing the guy who is in a current sandal to be our head coach. No matter if we get a 1st round pick, most likely they will just repeat what New York does best with them.

    I am confused….? Why wouldn't the Habs just wait to sign Dubois when his contract runs out? They aren't a cup contender next year anyway, so what's the rush?

    Lafreneire cost will be higher then Dubois.
    And I finally like that Dubois is picking 12 teams he'd be interested playing.
    Maybe if he sees Vegas,Florida,Dallas, LA,Anaheim,Sj he won't want to go Montreal anymore.

    I believe Laf will develop well and do well in Montreal. Some players just do not do well in NYC, it is just how it is….
    As far as getting a pick back, sure, but maybe they should ask the Devils scouts who to choose, since the ones working for the Rangers have some struggles with 1st round picks.
