For the first time since 2012, the New Jersey Devils won a playoff series. They defeated the New York Rangers in seven games and will play the Carolina Hurricanes in the next round. Despite a brief scare in game six, Akira Schmid rebounded nicely and collected his second shutout of the series. Even though it took them over a period to score, the Devils were able to score three times on Igor Shesterkin and Jesper Bratt got the empty net goal late in period number three. It’s also worth mentioning that this is only the second time in team history in which the Devils initially fell 0-2 and still win the series. The last time this occurred was in 1994 against the Boston Bruins.

How sweet it is! Buh-bye, Rags! Remember all the smiling and laughing they did after Game 2? Compare that to their stone-cold faces in the handshake line last night. You love to see it.
Big props to Akira Schmid, AKA, Mount Blank, for picking up his second shutout of the playoffs and totally stabilizing our net. If he's able to lead this club to the Promised Land in 2023, he'll be the same age as Marty Brodeur was back in 1995.
Kudos to the playoff versions of Erik Haula and Ondrej Palat, it's a far cry from what they did in the regular season and this is exactly why they were brought here.
Jack Hughes is our best offensive player but Nico Hischier was not only great defensively, he was able to rack up the assists and look like the player that flew up the draft board in 2017. Seeing him and Jesper Bratt hug after that empty-netter was awesome.
Going into the playoffs, I would've been happy with the Devils winning a playoff round and everything after that would be gravy. But why not get greedy? These opportunities don't come along every year, seize this one!

Igor shot a puck at Meirer after Timo shot the puck in net when Nico and Igor collided.. In Igor head, its Timo Time 24/7 rent free..
If not a penalty for the hit its interference at the very least. The puck was gone, therefore there's no trying to sperate the puck from the player as what a check is suppose to be. The refs are terrible and were against us all series. Trouba is a POS and 5v5 they couldn't hang period!

Haula is the proof that we overpaid for palat. He is an example that u can find veteran presence without a massive contract. I like palat and I don't mean to beat a dead horse, but I like bratt and timo more and they are much younger, even tho they didn't produce either. I'd like to the two young wingers going forward over a grinder who has value, but not at their expense. LGD
It wasn't a dirty hit. U can't be a devils fan and like Scott Stevens but call this dirty. This was a classic case of crossing the blue line with your head down. It's unfortunate because trouba was coming from the bench and timo didn't see him
