Looking to see a little more composure possessing the puck and moving it around. I’m anticipating Nico getting maybe even a couple – he’s had great looks and it’s coming

Interested to see how physical Timo will be once back in the lineup. Fuck you Trouba.

We got this boys. Rough start against a fresh team that was off for see several days. We got our look against them in game 1. Let’s make those adjustments and fight back

Wtf is with the devils being the only team scheduled (including if necessary games) to play every other night. Every other team has one 2 day break between games.

Who is in net? Any news?

    I wanna stick with schmid

With some rest I think the Devils come out flying

Really hope Meier is back in tonight. Feel like he was really missed in Game 1

The Devils started doing it in the second and third periods of last game, albeit unsuccessfully, but I guarantee it’s the game plan for tonight — get greasy and crash that net.

The only goals against Carolina, including the other night, they have gotten off the rush or breakaways have been through absolutely insane passing, speed, or giveaway/fumbles by the Canes. Devils need to execute **perfectly** to play their offense against this Canes team. Their blue line typically gives only a slight margin of error.

Looking at the last game of the regular season, Timo was a force against these guys. One game sample size, I know, but having him back would be massive (dang it, Trouba).

And for goodness sake, QUIT IT WITH THE AGGRESSIVE PINCHING ON THE DEFENSE!!! So many 2-on-1’s the other night. Watching the regular season highlights, this was not something exclusive to Game 1. In fact, I don’t think any other team in the league got as many wide open cracks at our net than Carolina.

I hope Timo is ready. We need his size and physicality to make space for our speedsters.

If he’s not, I’d love to see 11-7 and have Luke revitalize the power play.

I wonder which Devils team we get tonight…..

    Keys to tonight IMO:

-Change the PP. Jacks zone entry doesn’t work, its too easy to break up. Canes are aggressive on the pk, make them get out of position by moving the puck more effectively.

-Better puck management. Possession, Crisp passing and clean breakouts.

-Play North south, not east west. Simplify the game.

-The big guns need to step up. Depth scoring is great but not sustainable.

-SHOOT. We pass up so many shots to make an extra pass. Freddie wasn’t even tested last game, and get traffic in front of him.

Raise the level of intensity. We beat the Rangers in 7, as great as that feels it was still the first round. No more whiffing on pucks when no one is around contesting you. Pass to the tape, not each others skates. Work with each other, enough trying to enter the zone 1v3. Foot back on the gas.

Canes played really well Wednesday, but that was *not* Devils hockey. When this team is skating at the level we know they can, we can beat anyone. I fully believe tonight will be a lot better.

    LFG DEVILS!
