I would rather resign Monahan but with a bonus incentive contract on games played, rather then go after Josh Bailey.
Yamamoto, I'd pass. He sure isn't a "Dach quality" project. Kaapo Kakko could be…for Florida's choice, especially if it's a very late 1st, I'd say, do it.
Bailey would have to come with a 1st.
Bailey could be a nice pump and dump at the deadline for another 1st
Please get Kakko off of the Rangers. He could explode in a better situation where he isn't buried under so many star veteran forwards
I would pass on Yamamoto and Bailey. Kakko would be an interesting trade target. A second overall pick coming off his best season with 18 goals, 22 assists for 40 points and he's only 22. Lafreniere might also be an interesting addition.
I have both Kakko & Laf in my keeper pool. Had been watching alot of their games and more the tail end of the season. I would rather Kakko. He is the play driver, puck retriever, strong forecheck, has some finesse but gets those dirty goals with Gallagher effort. Laf could still turn around. I think he is a PF trying to play a finesse game. I think a change of scenery and would benefit Laf most. He needs top line minutes, not being buried on the 3rd line. With a solid playmaking center.
Kakko always interested me. Laffer, no. Yamamoto, no.

Yamamoto has only put up numbers when he sees time with McDavid .What line would he be on the habs …third line at best so he would NEVER fit on this team and 3 mil is TOO MUCH way too much.if he would play for the bare minimum then maybe but to me more small players that play small..NO THANKS. 1/10 nope.

Monahan needs to quit being mentioned he was a waste of time the ONLY reason they made that deal was to get the draft pick.
I like Kakko but I don't think he has the toughness I want from a top 6 player to win in the playoffs.4/10 but still nope and we don't have the cap space to spend on average players.
I will get straight to the point the Habs need FIRST line top level talent and they NEED to create cap space to get that .All these medicore pointless moves frustrate the heck out of me.Kakko will NEVER be a top line talent he reminds me of Kotkaniemi and NO…players do not turn into elite players they are elite BEFORE they even make the NHL.We need to also be looking at way more than SIMPLE numbers because an average player getting top ice time will have inflated numbers but are still very average players.Kakko is neither he will NEVER have big numbers 4 years in the league is plenty of time to show your stuff. 1/10 DO NOT want him.
I want to also add "what is the point?"of grabbing pointless FA's or making dumb trades this team is not a legit contender for another 3 years.DO we really want to go back to finishing in the middle of the pack NEVER getting a top draft pick?
The GOAL is clear we want to return to being a Stanley Cup contender and to do that you need VERY wise managing not the reckless type of managing we have had the last 30 years.
I'd pick up Bailey if he came with a 2nd

I think kent is looking someone who is healthy last season (someone who played at least 80 games) and doesn't cost alot

If the Rangers were smart, they'd give up a veteran and sign Kappo. It's not wise to trade a 22 year old, who is trending upwards, just so that they can keep an older player.
The number of NHL contracts is a consideration. Any team trading would need to take one or two Hab’s contracts
