they either pull out a miracle, turn this around and move on… or they’ve just proved the narrative that’s been around this team for years, and its time to make a change.

It’s not over until we lose one more game but if they want to change the narrative then they best come out and play their absolute hearts out and win the next 4 because honestly even if they came back and battled some how won even 3 I don’t think it will change the narrative around them.

The fact remains all these games have been close. 3-2, 4-2 etc. imagine how different this series would be if our core had scored a few goals, they would not be down 3-0 I can tell you that. Dubas went balls to the wall and surrounded our core with good enough pieces to win and this is how they repay him. They deserve all the shit they are getting right now. This series loss will lay squarely on the shoulders of our “stars” and I hope they feel ashamed.

Then you have people saying “Keefe is gone 100%”, hmm, but then you see dubas has only hired 1 coach in 13 years and that’s Keefe who he has dragged all the way from the chl to the NHL. I don’t believe he has the guts to fire him. We have coddled little babies as our stars, no one held accountable, the coach coddles them when they lose, NO Accountability. The gm doesn’t scare anybody that’s why he got taken to the cleaners and you have stupid rumors of Matthews getting 15mil already for doing fuck all. Dubas is no Masai and I don’t believe he has the guts to 1. FIRE KEEFE 2. TRADE M OR M, OR BOTH. We’ll run this garbage team back next year and I’m done.

Hard to disagree. I thought Matthews was great in games 1 and 2, but when you’re a superstar, sometimes the results are all that matters.
Either way they both played absolutely awful in game 3. When you demand those contracts, you need to show up, otherwise you get completely fair criticism like this.
And yeah, it’s easy to feel some sympathy that they get eaten alive by the Toronto media. But they also demanded the big money which they knew would bring harsher criticism, and also limit the ability of the team to get them extra help. You asked for this responsibility, so deliver, or don’t, and you get this.

I went to school with Hayes’s wife so on my IG I see him at things like dance recitals and children’s birthdays. He is usually smiling and enjoying himself but the last two days he has looked so sad.

lost in this is the fact that barkov and tkachuk, their best players aren’t exactly having the best series either.
maybe the thing most casual observers fail to understand is that in the playoffs, most top lines get neutralized to a point.
we’re actually getting our ass beat in the middle 6 by bennett, reinhart etc.
ROR and JT’s line have theoretically easier line matchups and are doing about the same as the top line.
and the reason kampf’s line had success last game is because they have the easiest matchup and they should outwork the likes of clin white and zac valpe.

A game, absolutely. Two games, frustrating, but you can see it. But after that second game, that’s when your big boys need to break the cycle. The Leafs have so many fucking game breakers on this team, and they all seem to sink or swim in stride. They’ve collectively chosen the last 5 games to stop showing up….
They keep talking about the posts. The post isn’t in the net. Every shot that misses going in the net, sure, if you could rewind and adjust the angle, you can probably score. But you can’t do that. So who gives a shit? You didn’t score.
The worst part of all of this is that the Leafs have all the talent in the world to win 4 straight. They absolutely can do it. The problem is the longggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg history of proving they can’t.
