The NHL Draft Lottery is over and Hunter has much to say about it. He starts with the not-surprising news that the Pittsburgh Penguins got the No. 14 pick before touching on the team’s options. Hunter goes over what he would do with the pick if he was the GM but also plays devil’s advocate since this class is shaping up to be a damn good one. He then discusses the lottery as a whole and why he feels a bit icky about the Chicago Blackhawks getting the top overall pick. He also feels horrible for the Ducks as this is the second time they have lost a draft lottery this generation. After that, he reviews Josh Archibald’s season and why his defensive impacts were substantial but that it didn’t translate over offensively. He looks at how he struggled after coming back from his injury and what he would do when it comes to bringing him back or not. Finally, Hunter brings up an interesting candidate to replace Jason Zucker if the Penguins are unable to bring him back.

I think the new GM has to try and dump Granlund by any means necessary, even if it's using a buyout. You cannot let Granlund take up 5 million from the cap for the next 2 years, Hextall is still dumb AF for that trade. There was a report that other GMs were literally laughing at Hextall when he made that trade. If the new GM can get Granlund off the books that money should be used to retain Zucker or find a replacement. And Josh Archibald should be dismissed honestly. He was supposed to be this gritty agitator guy and I rarely saw that from him, 4th liners are a dime a dozen, they can just find somebody else.
Granlund and the 1st for Elias Lindholm or Mark Scheifiele.
I would keep the pick and try and develop young players
Trade it for a proven nhl ready talent. We going for the win now while we still have crosby, Geno…we don’t have time to develop players.
I’m still suspicious that hextall purposely screwed this team.
