Well if you don't win the Stanley cup right away. Then there's a good chance your job is out the door .They don't give coaches anywhere a chance to prove they can win the cup .after 2 yrs your out the doors complete bullshit maybe they should look at chris Drury he is most of the problem .you did a great job turk and are a excellent coach time has proven that the last few years .keep your head up many teams will appreciate having you as there coach
What was Gerard Gallant's biggest downfall?? Coming into what was clearly turning into a trainwreck. 1) Just fired Gordon and Davidson. 2) Just fired a young coach because the veteran players were unhappy 3) Just extended Kreider and Zibanejad was on the cusp of a RIDICULOUSLY stupid (from the Rangers perspective) long term deal.
Bottom line is to Get some of these overpaid guys to waive NMC. We have talented kids coming up and beep spot in lineup. Kreider needs to be 3rd line

what is ridiculous is the idea that this team is sooo talented! based on what? they are terrible 5 v 5. 23rd in the league in expected goals 5 v 5. that is not a serious cup contender. they have a bunch of forwards that are getting paid as if they are elite level, difference-makers yet have no ability to change games. this team has a world-class goalie, a top-10 Dman, and a few overhyped underwhelming forwards. panarin is a 'no backcheck turnover machine, mika is a nice 2C nothing more, kreider is a one dimensional, inconsistent player. trouba is overpaid and nothing more than a 3rd pair D on a good team. this team's next HUGE error will be paying miller (he is awful in his own end and does nothing remarkable with the puck), schneider is 10x better prospect, he's been a star at every level and is lightyears more valuable as an asset. their only hope at becoming a real contender is to offload the cap damage that 10, 8, 20, and 93 are inflicting, give the kids' top-six minutes next year and pray that those guys are high ceiling budding stars. not very likely, but continuing to hope that guys like panarin and mika are 'talented' enough to take a team to a cup is just silly.
Change the forecheck to just one guy skating around in devils zone, stop giving devils the blue line, do more of a trap game , get the top lines to work the cycle game and just rip pucks from the point low to high those are some stuff where you can adjust in game gallant couldn’t do that tho cuz he didn’t have a set system for offense forecheck breakouts or anything only thing system wise I’ve ever heard him refer to is having a zone defensive structure not man on man he’s too stubborn about his coaching style which I guess he has to be to have confidence as a coach but when the rangers are getting eaten alive for 3 games straight he’s gotta do more than just change lines up he’s a knucklehead honestly getting rid of him was the right move
I'm a NYR fan for 47 years a Blue seater. I've seen GM's coaches and players and NYR squads that had potential come and go for a life time that fell short until 1994. I WANNA MEET THE F'n PERFICT A-HOLE THAT MADE THE PREDICTION THAT THIS NYR's TEAM WOULD WIN A CUP TWO YEARS AFTER THE REBUILD. .Keep The Players That Got You Here This Far And Build Around The Talent And Hope.
