  1. Here's the problem how would montreal have been able to keep Suzuki Caufield and Bedard ? Not including some of the D it would be impossible

  2. With this draft and whoever montreal picks tell you, you don't need PLD

  3. I'm with you Dekes. Not impressed that Chicago gets Bedard considering how Bettman reacted to the Mailloux situation. ( Thanks again Mark.). Mirchkov is just to big a risk in my opinion . Will Smith would be nice but doubt he will be around at 5th. So hopefully Hughes can work a little magic on draft day. Take care of that cold bud ! GHG !

  4. smith will play for boston U next year michkov will miss 3 years ,which everone is available at 5th.

  5. I look at the Michkov situation and immediately get reminded of the Wild. Imagine having a game breaking talent like Kaprizov dropped into your line-up and just being able to light things up. There is always a risk with Russians involved in the KHL but look at the potential reward we could have in a few years if Michkov lives up to the hype! He will definitely be the most talented player available at 5th if San Jose passes on him, so we should go for it!

  6. They better not go off the wall pick a defensemen ill be pissed

  7. I hope he won't make the same mistake as last year and choose the best player available!

  8. I do think with Bedard going to Chicago it becomes a redemption story for the Blackhawks . But to be Honestly Going to an O6 team was the best thing for him. I would have really hated if the Yotes had won.

  9. I am not a Habs fan but I will say this.. where would you be drafting if you had no injuries?
What a bunch of whiners you guys are.
Drew is whining that you are picking 5th in a great draft year
Tropicalnhl was almost crying that you didn't move up
Habsdigest was almost crying as well
Tony Marinaro was actually Crying… and blaming the fans (of all people) at the same time

I could only imagine the tears if the Habs ended up picking 7th. The St. Lawrence river would overflow

  10. Michkov or Will Smith. No one else. If they’re available, it’s probably safer going with an American boy over a Russian one, but if Smith is gone, it absolutely has to be Michkov. He will be a generation-defining goal scorer.

  11. If we pick Dvorsky at 5 while Michkov still available, i'm gonna shit the bed.

  12. The hockey gods failed on that day.. but maybe it's the start of a new version of the ballach curse for Chicago.

  13. Edmonton have McDavid AND Draisatl and they have a really hard time in the playoffs and have not been able to win in the last 6 years. Getting a generational talent is not a garantee you will win. Chicago though should have been stripped of their first pick. New Jersey and Arizona lost it for a lot less than that. Chicago hid sexual abuse for years, clearly tanked this year and get rewarded by a generational talent which is disgusting. Bedard is not going to be enough to save that AHL team…

  14. Michkov got "Bust: Russian slug" written all over him. In flashing red lights.
Trade the Michkov pick to someone in the same division.
    Win-win.

  15. I personally think, Will Smith is the steal or sleeper of this draft within the top 10. This guy oozes of talent. To me he is the best complete player after the top sought after 3: Bedard, Fantilli & Michkov.

  16. By far I want Michkov more than the others, but otherwise I just don’t want us to pick out of the top 5 consensus.

  17. I can see Ryan Leonard getting drafted by the habs. Good two way forward has a two way game can score can put up assists. I love all around his game I wouldn't be mad if we got him or will smith or Zach Benson

  18. Ima be upset if michkov is there and we pass him. We need super star talent not guys with low ceilings and high floors. If we don’t take one of smith, Carlson, or michkov I’d be pissed

  19. Dvorsky makes all sense for the Habs. He was my pick for the past year. Big centre with a strong two-way game, a Slovak to pair with Slafkovsky, (since Mesar looks like a wasted pick), one of the youngest players in the draft, but possibly the most intelligent and mature. Fashion model good looks don't hurt either. He was in on over 60% of his team's scoring at the U18, Will Smith was in on less than 40% of his team's scoring, on a line with 2 top 16 draft linemates who he has played with for two years. Dvorsky is younger, taller, any 30 pounds heavier than Smith according to IIHF measurements 😮

  20. “I don’t see a world where

    Drafting Michkov
makes sense & is worth the risk”

    Yeah me neither.
    I don’t see a 50 goal scorer, 80-100pts per year guy
    Kucherov-Kaprisov like

    being worth the risk …

When he has a 3 year contract in the KHL.
I mean, it’s so worldsssss apart with the North American prospects who need 2 years to develop.
