I’m sure the caps would be willing to trade him if another team was 1) willing to pick up his 7.8M per year contract and 2) willing to give the caps a good deal in return. Maybe if he should play better, demonstrate his value.

We should bring back Bruce. He’s a known commodity and is fun to play for

I read this as Kuznetzov being friends with a spy.

No use trading Kuzy while his perceived value is low. We know what he can do when he’s not being all grumpy.

Kuzy then needs to play better in order to be traded.

  6. So we need to move on from him, but can’t because his trade value isn’t good enough. Hilarious.

  7. He needs someone to believe in him, and better wingers with him. I’m not making excuses for him, but he’s a dynamic player – but not exactly 2-way.

I view Kuznetsov the same as I did Vrana and Vanecek and Samsonov. It’s not working out here and this talented player and this organization need to part ways because it’s for the best. Kuznetsov isn’t happy here just like the others weren’t. Doesn’t mean he isn’t insanely talented but it’s time for a change.

We were patient, even when everyone on the planet said he would never come to play in the States. Kuzy can be as good as he feels like being and the only season I ever truly saw him try his hardest, we won the Cup. Maybe do that again!

Do we need to reevaluate the whole “DC is great for Russian players”? Semin, Varlamov, Samsonov, now Kuzy. It’s seeming like Ovechkin and Orlov are the only ones that have really found sustained success and joy here and it’s hard to take credit for a generational talent like Ovie

Should have traded him a few years ago when we could have actually gotten something for him. He’s a slightly more motivated Semin; great when he wants to be but so obviously checks out for games at a time.

Wouldnt a Kuznetsov for Johansson 1 for 1 make some sense? Both similar ages, 200k difference in cap hit. Nash needs a left hand center and i would assume caps need a right hand center

Maybe we can get the opinion of Kuznetsov’s longtime barber or tattoo artist next.
