    Nurse getting suspended for 1 game is good news for the oilers. He has been horrible this entire playoffs. Better with him off the ice.

    1 game is an absolute joke…Bunting got 3 games for an elbow, Petro tries to cut off Leon’s hands with his stick and gets an apology from the league that they halfto suspend him for a single game.
    Leagues a joke. I didn’t see the game but did the lumber Jack get 5 and a game?

    NHL higher ups are a joke. Skates over 6 feet to get to him after the puck has gone. That is intent period. Off the ice that would be assault with a weapon. 1 game.. what did Connor get last season for that boarding joke of a call. Just picking numbers out of a hat each time. “Gee Bob I wonder what it’s going to be this time.”

    Lol Sportsnet has one of the worst coaches in NHL history as an analyst?
    They say guys that can't do teach but the guy was a career AHL player and couldn't coach either! Why don't you get Jimmy from the Beer league to be an analyst?
    They have about the same qualifications! Lol

    I'm not even an Oilers fan. That was intent to injure a player. One game? You're opening the door for bad injuries like this to happen more often & I won't be surprised

    What do we learn here? Draisaitl is at fault.
    If he made a show out of it holding his arm and leaving not for the bench but out of the game pietrangelo would have been suspended for the series no doubt.
    He was lucky he didn't get injured but it was clear intent

    The Pietrangelo slash MAY have deserved more than a game but its not exactly a 'false equivalency' to give them both a game. The panel didnt explain this well but although they got the same penalty, its the minimum suspension. There is no comparison. Basically they both did something worth a minimum penalty even if one was worse. Maybe the league felt nurse deserved 0.5 games and Pietrangelo deserved 1.4 games. It's kind of like if somethings costs 98 cents or 99 cents you pay $1 cash since there is no smaller denomination than a nickel. The store owner isnt going to increase the price for one to $1.05 just so that you know it costs more than the other. Similarly the league is not comparing the two incidents and making a statement about which is worth more. The point is not to take into account the implications for the teams in series but to treat each incident according to what happened and the history of the players involved.

    Also, the purpose of suspending Nurse for a game is to deter big pointless brawls at the end of the game, not to simply condemn and punish what he did. Not suspending him would allow irrelevant circumstances to affect the decision, undermining the rules and league's authority.

    What a pile of crap! The refs missed so many calls in the game. The fight was mutual! The slash was pure intent to injure! He should be out for a minimum of 3 games! More proof that Bettman wants American teams in the final four. Absolute joke!

    This is insultingly low, in a game they are definitely going to lose where the penalty won't matter, 2-3 seconds after Draisaitl got rid of the puck, 2 hands starting above his head and chopping straight down. There was literally no part of that play that could be considered trying to play the game, it was solely intent to injure and should be treated as such. I'm no Toronto fan, but Bunting getting 3 games for the elbow to the head and this being 1 is insane, considering the fact that Bunting was at least participating in the play and threw an elbow like an idiot. Gary is really doing the most for American teams.

    The right call???? He should’ve been suspended longer clearly that was intent to injure. Plus the bs suspension for Nurse. 🤦🏽‍♂️
