wow Carolina I am really impressed with the turnaround. I pegged them as the weakest Eastern Conf team and man have they gone on a streak at the right time. Let the storm surge on!
Ik people may think I am trashing New Jersey (Rangers fan here), but this ain't the case. I have to give them a lot of credit for leaving it all out there on the ice tonight. Very unfortunate how their season ended like this (I am very familiar with this feeling of watching your team lose a playoff OT game). But they have one bright future of what they accomplished this year. Wouldn't surprise me if they get back to the 2nd round of the playoffs next year depending how their season in 2023-24 unfolds.

Hurricanes fan here!! I'm so glad we're heading back to the Conference Finals. I got to give it to you Devils, y'all had a great season, and y'all have a bright future ahead. Maybe we'll see y'all again in the playoffs next year and battle it out just like old times. Honestly, I thought the Devils would give us more of a fight considering how great they've looked this season, but I guess not, and that's okay. Just make sure you keep guys like Meier, Hughes, and Severson around for as long as you can (especially Jack Hughes. I know he's been with y'all for a bit, but that guy is an absolute treasure). See you next year Devils, but until then, go Canes baby!!

Even though this game was close to the bitter end, the storm surge was in full effect in this series! Great season for New Jersey though, 40+ point improvement from last year, KOing their longtime Hudson rival in round 1, 3rd in the league in points, theyโll be back next year!

Just before this, the Devils thought they had cleared the puck but it went into the bench and was brought back into the zone.
Refs: "We refuse to call any penalties after the second period." Hockey gods: "You will give Carolina a power play for delay of game for it is written." No in all fairness I get they dont want to be the reason a team goes home but cN they please just call it as it is. If they're guilty they're guilty. 8 more to the cup. 4 more to the final
