[Charlie O’Connor] Hilferty: From the first day I interacted (with Danny Briere), I knew we had our general manager. There was no need for a process. We had our general manager.

Valerie Camilo did reference a rebuild in what she said.
Lmao
This press conference has moved me from cautiously optimistic to optimistic.
Hilferty is so much better than Scott. Jonesy is knocking all of his responses out of the park. Briere’s paid his dues and has been molded by today’s NHL. Torts is the right guy for the job.
I think we’re turning a corner here. I hope they don’t burn me again.
Saying that does not inspire the confidence he thinks it does lol
glad we left no stone unturned!
I know this post is going to become a meme in 2.5 seconds but I’m already more inspired then under Scott.
It seemed obvious, they were probably able to announce it a while ago but wanted to wait to finish the PHO process, otherwise why did they bother with the charade
Genuine question. Did they at least have a process for the gm position? Did they interview anyone else to get a good idea of what’s out there? Even if you know deep down you are keeping Briere I still think you need to use this time to your advantage. Fine tune your GM process for next time (hopefully not necessary). Find out what you really need to look for.
Danny looks like he’s serious and wants that cup he almost got us in 2010.
I’m usually critical, but I have faith in the man.

I’m gonna watch the upcoming draft, and if I hear anything regarding “gritty”, “lunch pail”, “a very Flyers pick” or anything else telling me we once again drafted a low-skill, high-energy grinder, I’ll know this rebuild is a sham. Until then, Briere and Jonesy have the benefit of the doubt.
Hilferty has absolutely no experience in the field. Maybe this is the right call, but this doesn’t carry much weight.
