It’s starting to feel like we’re not going to be happy with the new coach…

Man… that’s not a very good list. I mean, Capuano is in it. Please, anyone but him.

I don’t like any of those names mentioned. Many of those people give off tremendous loser vibes. This team needs a head coach with enormous stature in order to command absolute respect in the locker room, and massive strength of character in order to get in the veteran leadership’s faces and hold them accountable for when they mail in a shift or a period or an entire game. Maybe Laviolette but he feels like such a tired old retread at this point and makes me think “can’t we do better than him?”. Articles like that are just so full of nonsense and speculation. I trust Drury and I believe that he is going to bring in a coach who inspires confidence.

I am ok with Sullivan and Bylsma but the rest would be unmitigated disasters.
Sullivan is particularly interesting as he was a bench coach for us before and has coached veteran teams with big stars before and done so with relatively little locker room drama. I would be happy with him.

Those aren’t even particularly nice ties. Too traditional. Maybe something with a pattern. Could be geometric, maybe paisley? Heck, why not check out a bolo tie.

Not even gonna coins Sullivan since the Penguins would be complete morons to get rid of him.
Of the names mentioned Laviolette and Bylsma seem like the best. Laviolette brings that tough old school mentality without being a complete dick, but also employs great systems and has brought every single team he’s ever coached to a cup appearance (besides the old ass capitals).
Bylsma has won a cup with Pitt and just seems like an extremely intelligent analytics driven guy who’s very well spoken. Reminds me of a worse version of Jon Cooper but still good. He sucked with Buffalo but they were actively tanking so I don’t pay it much mind.
Just as long as they don’t go with loser retreads who haven’t won shit like Boudreau, Hartley, Guy Boucher, Capuano etc.

This may be a naive question but why is every coaching candidate a North American? Is there not some crack European coach with a demonstrated history of winning to try out?

At this point, I just want Knoblauch promoted. I don’t even give a shit, all of the retread coaches are awful options and Sullivan’s not going anywhere.

they are all very Chris Drury choices, with Sullivan being the only one listed who’s good. Pandolfo seems very inevitable
