Dan Bylsma is coaching with the Kraken’s AHL associate. I haven’t seen him mentioned ONCE, by any fan or journalist. 2009 Stanley Cup, 2011 Jack Adams… hell, with ’09 he’s won more cups than Vigneault, Quinn and Gallant combined lol. Known and loved by Pens players for encouraging players to create and taking a sort of constructive criticism role. Well versed with a talent heavy roster and elite goaltending. Far more game sense than Gallant.
What gives??

For one, the Post mentioned him in an article today.
For two, he’s only won with Crosby. And he was brutally bad in Buffalo. So he’s an unsuccessful retread, the worst kid of retread.
Pens hated playing for him.
Because he coached a team that oozed unbelievable amounts of talent to a cup and then ate shit when he didn’t coach said team. A cup winning coach doesn’t equate to a great one. It’s a team sport. That’s like saying Jordan Nolan is a hockey god because he’s a three time cup champ.
Brooks mentioned bylsma recently as a drury connected coach. Personally, he’s the guy I want if NHL experience is a must for drury. He’s good team guy who puts the structure together based on what his players need to succeed. The Athletic (iirc) did a decent piece on him when he got the kraken AHL job.
Though the biggest thing I want in a coach is someone with whom drury can plan and execute long term team development.
