The Penguins and Islanders’ beef was brutal, contentious, and somehow only 10 days long

On February 2nd, 2011, the New York Islanders and Pittsburgh Penguins fired up a proper, violent beef. By February 12th, 2011, the beef was done. So, how does something go from zero to sixty and then back to zero in just 10 days?

  1. You know a hockey beef is kickass when a video covering said beef gets a goddamn age restriction less than 5 minutes after the video was posted

  2. It’s been awhile since we got anything Dorktown related with Jon and Alex or Fumble Dimension with Jon and Kofie.
Please tell me this long absence with Jon is that he’s working on something big?

  3. Never thought we'd get a beef history on Isles-Pens! Fight night at the Coliseum in 2011 was a clear culture shift for the Islanders in hindsight, really started to change the country club atmosphere around the team

  5. Now we need a rewind of Nagano olympics where we were robbed of Gretzky vs. Hasek for a chance to move onto the gold metal game

  6. Matt Cooke was a garbage player and a cheap shot artist. The guy should not have been in the league he was a disgrace to the sport. This is coming from a Pens fan. Also DiPietro went down so fast was because Johnson broke his jaw in one punch.

  7. Very occult but message received. Lord forgive them for they know not what they do!

  8. If you're going to do this, you need to do the Sens-Flyers brawl in 2004. You can open a steakhouse with the beef that had that night.

  9. Anybody remember 6'4" Mario getting one shotted by 5'6" Theo Fleury? Mario's opinions on fights are irrelevant.
