  1. Martinook has been one of my favorite players since he first got traded to the Canes. I've always had a soft spot for the role players and grinders, so I'm thrilled that his hard work is paying off on the score sheet.

  2. Part of me wants to see toronto get steamrolled but the other part of me feels empathy and wouldn't mind seeing them make it an interesting series all of a sudden. Just happy to see more playoff games as well!

  3. pietrangelo suspension is a joke. i get that he was goaded and the league/officials did nothing to protect him. but egregious intent to injure has no place in the game. honestly, i'm asking my 4th liners to start hacking the wrists of the other team's best goal scorers every game now.

  4. I really hate the instigator rule it makes no sense a fight is a fight it really shouldn't matter who starts it

  5. Loved Martinook when he played for the Portland (Maine) Pirates, back when he was in the Arizona system. He was a big part of their push to the playoffs in their final year of existence.

  6. As a unbased Canadian fan, I am ready to believe in Toronto and Edmonton even though it's not Hockey Night In Canada.

  7. Just another reason there should be awards specifically for the playoffs. These feel like welfare awards for the guys whose teams went try hard during the regular season. Ullmark is a big part of the reason Boston got knocked out first round, if not the biggest reason.

  8. “Both sides have a thought the NHL is after them”= probably means the NHL management is doing its job correctly.

  9. Pietrangelo only getting one game is an embarrassment on the league. Skating out of your way and turning your stick into a weapon needs a harder punishment. Injury or not, you can't say that wasn't his intension and doesn't belong in the game

  10. Snoop made an extremely compelling case on ESPN. I am rooting for him.

  11. Martinook is the perfect example of a really good player who gets completely overlooked because a lot of people see flashier guys who score more points as having more "talent" even though a lot of those guys are crappy in their own end. Martinook might only score 35 points, but he's also going to win board battles and play great in his own end and all those other things that don't show up on the back of his hockey card.

  12. I think Sorokin is probably the best goalie of the three, but Ullmark had an impossibly good regular season this year so I would be very surprised if he didn't win.

  13. Big mistake by the Sens ownership. As a Sens fan, I couldn't care less now if Snoop Dogg or the weeknd is part of the winning group. At least with Reynolds he was Canadian AND had a local connection.

  14. Ha Ha. Reynolds suckered everybody out. This was an $800 billion publicity stunt. Just the same as it is for the Drug Dealing Pimp who just threw his hat in the ring.
