The Vancouver Canucks Should Not Trade Conor Garland

Conor Garland should not be traded, especially if the Canucks have to give up assets to do so.

  1. Myers is probably the easiest one to move. His cap hit is $6 million, but his actual salary is $1 million. A team that needs to get to the cap floor but doesn't have the money for an expensive player in real dollars might be interested. Arizona is probably the most obvious one, but they're not taking that cap hip without a sweetener.

  2. Over the cap is such a rofl. Such a desperate, desperate team. As for Garland you just know he'd draw penalties in the playoffs. Even in OT he might make it difficult for the refs to keep their whistles in their pockets.

  3. I agree and I've actually always wanted them to keep Garland necer wanted him traded. Garland is much better and more important than it seems and if he had top line minutes and top powerplay time his stats would be excellent abd thats with him not at his best.
Big mistake to trade him especially giving a prospect.
    Trade Boeser and Myers.

  4. I say keep Garland and Boeser (unless you get s good return) and revamp the Power play.

    Hughes: Point
    Pettersson: Bumper
    Boeser/Kuzmenko: Left Wall
    Miller: Right Wall
Garland: Pest infront of the net and corners.

(Petey on bumper because he never shoots the one timer, Miller and Boeser will).

  5. Yes, worse trade ever and beats Cam Neely/Barry Peterson trade. And I vote yes to Jim Benning worse GM in Vancouver history previously held by Stu Jackson, GM Vancouver Grizzlies.

  6. Garland can fetched you good asset Better moved Him Got the skills no finished Benning core needs to Go Myers oel Pearson poolman Boeser Demko movable contracts Benning remaining core

  7. Garland can easily be replaced by Hoglander who is much cheaper

  8. Towards the end he led and controlled the third line what could he do with the right players around him

  9. So the idea is to reward an overpaid replacement level player with more power play time? They should use the entire draft to clean up the cap issues but even if they did so they’d just spend the money on some other mediocrity. Hopeless

  10. Exception: 1st rounder + Garland to move up a few spots on another 1st rounder (e.g. 1st rounder 12th pick + Garland for 1st rounder 9th pick)

  11. If the Canucks organization believes trading away a 1st so that we can sign OEL to a seven years contract is a good idea, then sure, giving away a 1st to get rid of Garland is a great idea.😢😢

  12. I feel we have garlands replacement on the cheap with hoglander. Could we move garland in a hockey trade for a 3/4 center or LHD for equal money? Then move Myers in September after his bonus is paid. Noah Juulsen could be the 3rd pair RHD with bear and Hronk.

  13. If you trade peteys good friend Brock petey will be upset. Somebody has to go tho. Package 11th pick with oel to make room. Canucks will draft a mini swede anyways.
