I agree what Pilzy said about Dorion and the Stutzle deal. People that complain about PD only mention the bad trades. Every GM has bad trades and some of them aren't even that bad but just don't work out for whatever reason (like every Sens goalie trade in the past few years).
He knew to pick Stutzle ober the other options and then extended him for what will prove to be a bargain. He chose Sanderson over other options that haven't panned out in other teams. He picked Tkachuck and signed him long term for a good deal. He got us Giroux playing as well as ever. He got the Cat for cheap. He got us Chychrun for a decent price. He got us Norris early in the teardown. He got us Batherson as a 4th round pick, and signed him longer term for a good deal. etc. etc.
He built the core we are now cheering for, so if you believe in them, you have to believe PD did a decent job, no?
After watching the offseason interview Timmy did with Elliot Freidman last year i had high hopes. Timmy exceeded all expectations and earned the superstar nickname.
Stutzle is completely eclipsing Byfield and Lafreniere who were drafted ahead of him, as of now Timmy Stu is the legit #1 of 2020
Former long term Flyers fan here, I came over with G. I've watched Claude his entire career and when they decided to trade him and the fanbase berated him for exercising his right to choose his destination, I was disgusted and jumped ship to Florida before he signed in Ottawa in the offseason.
I've really enjoyed watching Sens games, they've been a breath of fresh air after years of dumpster fires with that orange team. This team has so much potential and Timmy here is a huge part of that. I'm just glad my boy G fit in so well, he's been living clean a long time, after some hard lessons (ask him about his golf swing injury). I think Timmy and G could have a few years together still and I can't wait.
