Maybe Michkov will fall to #11 for your Vancouver team.. rather than them moving the pick to save $$$$$ now… get a pick that won't be here for a few years and get the same effect with a top player in the draft…

Kekäläinen have made some suprises on first round previous years, but he also always says "draft best player available, worry about needs later." Dubois and Kent Johnsson was small suprises and Chinakov was bigger one.
Carlsson and Juricek could both be big editions next year.
Wouldn’t be surprised to see Columbus take Smith 3rd. Would be happy with him or Carlsson

As a Jackets fan, I am hoping Fantilli drops to 3 but I don’t see that happening. My second choice is Carlsson which is a great conciliation prize. The only scenarios I see is picking outside of those two, Jarmo pulls a similar thing to the 2016 draft and picks Will smith OR we have a blockbuster trade for a bonafide 1C (first name that comes to mind is Lindholm assuming he signs long term) allowing us to pick Michkov at 3 and wait until he comes over
You guys can watch him play in Swedens game against Germany in WC today/tomorrow (the 12th). He is literally the only reason I’m going to watch it. And he will probably play C in the first line with Raymond, so could give some insight in his upsides.
What I like about Carlsson is not only did he do well against men, but on the big ice in a low scoring league.
Given his size, his explosive power will take longer to develop than it does for shorter players. Difference being that his power ceiling will be higher than shorter players.
Michkov won't be able to come even after his contract ends. Russia is about to change all the rules. He'd have to defect. Grant Mcaag did a podcast about this. I can't believe nobody else is reporting it.

He should be but Columbus is weirdly high on Smith. They want that fast paced playmaking and creativity more than they want that intelligence and defensive effort.
Well Leo is 6'3 so he might pan out to be a decent player like a Gabe Vilardi or Big Jeff Carter from that kinda frame ;). I'd like to see CBJ to well after getting shafted in the Lottery BS :). Also they traded Quick to Vegas giving him a chance to Win Pacific Division for only time in career as LA Kings wont win it. That is always the way as people rated Nurse like 4th with Seth Jones 1st when MacKinnen was drafted I think that was Barkov draft as top European. Usually the Best Player from Europe like Stutzle is going to be better than anybody from Canada like Bustfield or Byfield I can't even remember his name. Usually a QB that bad gets cut like Quincy Carter or throws INTs like Dak Prescott anyways ;). Wright fell from Grace This Year from 1st to 4th :).
If I'm Columbus' GM I take whomever is available between Carlsson and Fantilli. The Blue Jackets are in the position where they really need to start impriving and even if Fantilli or Carlsson has to spend a year in the minors it would be way better than waiting 3 years for Michkov, who could change his mind by then.
As a Blue Jackets fan, I'd be happy with Carlsson and think that's probably who we pick. If Fantilli falls to 3, wonderful, and I've heard Will Smith's name come up but probably not before Carlsson. Personally, I don't have much interest in Michkov simply because he won't be available for several years, and as you point out, we've needed a top center forever. I also think any trade package to move up to 2 or even 1 would be so catastrophically expensive it isn't even worth considering. But hey, that could be some draft day fun

One thing that I NEVER hear, is the small size of Michkov. The uncertainty of WHEN he would play in the NHL, PLUS his size, leads me to believe he will fall farther than some (most) people are projecting. Its puzzling how they talk about about this years prospects under 175 pounds, and say they are too small, but Michkov is smaller that that range. (165 – 175 pounds). hmmm
Imo he is the 5th best player of this draft. I would draft in this order : Bedard, Fantilli, Michkov, Smith, Carlsson, Benson. Smith and Carlsson are close to the same lvl, but its seems like american player are far easier to develop because GMs tend to rush europeen players in the nhl, messing up their devellopement
I have a crazy dream that the size and contract of Michov will drop him down to like the mid of the 1st round some way some how and the wild draft him and we have a Michov Kaprizov duo would be insane it will never happen Ik but would be so awesome
I will say this even tho there’s a wait for mitchkov he’s gonna be a superstar if he drops past 5th Canucks need to trade up in 3 years we will be a juggernaut Pettey,Hughes,Raty,Lekkermaki and I’m sure jurmo will be ready to our top 6 should be busted just by adding mitchkov
I dont see how Michkov’s contract isn’t already factored into how he is ranked. I see a player as him already taking 2 years to be in the nhl, of course he is ready as he’s already playing in the KHL, but just the type of player he is.
Carlson will be a bust. (I predicted the Leafs to win the cup)
I think a michkov video will be very interesting due to the issue of the war, Russia and the KHL currently. The Sharks have a real issue on taking the risk going for him or going with Will Smith instead.
