Can’t believe this isn’t a bigger story. A goal stolen from us to tie it. A goal gifted to the Panthers on an ignored stick hold penalty for them to win it. All this in an elimination game.

There’s no two ways about it, we got totally screwed. As the NHL is a joke of a league.

Yep, the team should be preparing for game 6. Anyone that gaslights us as fans into thinking the league isn’t corrupt is a dumbass.

Warmington is right but he can still go fuck himself. One of the biggest pieces of human garbage in the Toronto media (not sports media but media).

Like yeah we got screwed but at the same time the team put themselves in that position to get screwed. You’re down 3-0 in an uphill battle. Only scoring 2 goals each game means you won’t win many of them. They have to score enough that a bad call or missed call won’t sink them and they couldn’t.

This is a terrible article. The photo shown from the goal passed the line is from when Brobovski was getting up and knocked it in after play was CLEARLY dead.

You can believe it was a goal but you don’t need to blatantly lie above the evidence, it doesn’t help your case.

    Edit: spelling.

I think what fans need to remember is that they’re watching a business product on ice.

This is not a pure sport, and the NHL has been massaging drafts and playoff outcomes for more than a decade.

It’s about capital accumulation and profit.

You can still enjoy the NHL but better to think about it as watching the WWE-On-Ice.

It’s a fabricated soap opera for men. If you feel stupid watching (and God forbid betting) on this soap opera for men that fixed to favour billionaire owners, just stop watching.

I like to follow the NHL as a business but have not watched a single game since Calgary’s ‘stolen’ playoff goal more than a decade ago. I didn’t want to put my energy into a sport that is so obviously fixed.

This series was a mockery. They need to win despite the horseshit though. I think that’s what championship calibre means.

As much as I hate reviewing everything, the league needs a rule for reviewing penalties on goals in some form. An interference away from the play is one thing, but a player actively holding a defenders stick which leads to a goal needs review.
