No. Trade Debrincat, and get a power-forward in his place. Don't trade Debrincat for goaltending. Reimer is right there as a UFA. All you want for goal is someone who can be good until Sogaard or Merilinen is ready.
I agree with a lot of what's being said and feel that deBrincat isn't really a 9m player on the Sens roster. That being said, he is a more complete player than past wingers like Hoffman and Duclair were, and certainly on another level not just as far as goal scoring goes, but most especially in his ability to move and hold the puck. He's an undersized player who can deliver a hit. The plus/minus problems (along with Batherson) had to do with d zone structure and "Pinto growing pains," as far as I'm concerned. I'd expect him and Batherson to be far more productive with Norris centering the line, but having a "Brady-or-Stone-like" presence on the 2nd line is probably ideal as Norris is a natural scorer. I'd be happy if they kept him around for next season rather than trade him for picks.

The Sens should not offer the Cat a contract. Trade him and get what you can. Maybe Detroit will give up NYI 1st rd pick.
I don’t think he likes Ottawa I’ve watched every game and behind the scenes as much as possible and he really doesn’t seem all in and that’s what we need right now is a all in high end player

Yorky is 100% right. DeBrincat is a fantastic player. It just makes no sense if you're trying to build a winner. You can't tie up 9 million on a second line player. Moving him for assets allows you to address the areas of concern like goaltending and the bottom six. If they don't do that they are in real trouble. Ideally I would like to see him traded for assets and then use those assets to get a goalie like Hellebuyck.
I say trade him, look at his value, if you add prospects,who knows what you can get, another goal scorer and and another ventran defenseman instead of Hamonic, Ottawa Senators might get a amazing deal out of it

Firstly, don't ever be afraid to walk away from a nine million dollar contract. A team always gets some thing and if that means 9 million freed up in a cap space era, so be it. Try to sign a bertizzi and u still have 4 millionish leftover.
If the sens can sign and trade him before the draft, even better but the worst case scenario in this case might turn out to be a very good solution
