  1. Interesting fact haha you just said it Bluegar was on the ice last night for the Golden Knights.

  2. That's so spot on! Call it gritt, call it whatever you want, but winners show up when they need to and play like a team with (quiet) confidence. They believe in themselves and achieving the goal ahead. And they don't sink under pressure or difficult circumstances. Now it's always easy to talk about it when you already know the results, but look what kind of pressure Toronto and Boston built up for themselves. Even Pittsburgh did it when they kept the core together and told everyone they wanted to win another cup this year. The core players know they can do it. We sure know and want it. But that's also a very high bar to set for a team. You need players who can handle or even like that pressure.

  3. Bennett should have been suspended 3 times already. Yeah theres grit missing in a lot of teams but some get away with crossing the line way too often and I dont want that shit on my team and never did when we did have it. We didnt win when we had people doing shit like he does but we won when we had aggressive net front pests that skirted the line. There is a line and theres a cabinet full of players becoming UFA that know it well…

  4. Dubas makes me nervous. He brought in zar, Lafferty and Murray. All guys we wanted off our team at times. I'm sure he would be better than hex but he just doesn't seem as great as people make him out to be.

  5. Hey DK, J1Q, any thoughts on the NHL not being able to work something out with ESPN so last night's Game 6 might be broadcast at 8:00 p.m. instead of 10:00 p.m.? (seems Sunday Night Baseball, Cardinals vs Red Sox in May, was deemed more valuable in terms of ratings than a 2nd round Stanley Cup Playoff game, further disrespect of the NHL)

  6. Tavares played against Boston in this season's playoffs? That's a neat trick. Anyway, you're essentially saying Toronto matches Pittsburgh as far as not having those nasty, sandpaper type players, but yet you'll like to see the person responsible for that roster (Dubas) brought here…to work with an unfirable coach, who also caters to the kind of hockey Toronto plays, and ultimately looses with. If you're saying Sullivan doesn't, and he actually likes those kind of players, then why did he allow Hextall to remove the little edge they had, and also allow Hextall to continue adding players like Granlund, and Heinen (you said good for the Penguins) whenever they had a chance to get some of it back? You're telling me "never done nothing" Hextall arrives here suddenly, and inherits a 2-time Stanley Cup winning coach that you'd think has earned some pull in roster/talent decisions by that point, and this great coach has no say or input in the direction or need of player and roster decisions? This roster they have now is 100% Hextall's fault? Sullivan signed off on none of it? By all means then, I hope Dubas does get the Penguins gig. Would love to see more soulless, edgeless analytics inspired roster moves, added to the Sullivan theory that puck possession, skill and speed are all you need to win a cup. More paper tiger hockey and lots of it, please.

  7. Greetings from Newfoundland: No one at the Tim's this morning was wearing anything hockey. No one yesterday at the park was mentioning hockey. This time of mourning that comes – inevitably – every year. In my mind it is all about the pressure! To win in this pressure-cooker you have to be super super super cool and oblivious to all the outside noise. Let's go Pens 2024!!!
