Interesting from Jack at 1:00 – 1:20. “You can’t just say you want to come back. If you wanna be in New Jersey, you gotta just sign the deal”. I’m probably reading into this too much, but I am wondering if this is his message – “Nico and I took less than we could have demanded because we bought in to GM Fitzgerald’s long term vision and we know that extra cap room is valuable. If you really want to come back, unfortunately because of the cap you gotta do the same.”

Definitely a message that it’s a privilege to play for this team. You earn your right to be here, not the other way around.
If you want to play with good players, you have to take a slight pay cut. Its the way of the cap. Look at Toronto right now.
Refreshing to hear this sort of thing. I’m very interested to see what happens this off season. Been a long time since they’ve been in a position to make off season decisions with the intention of contending next season.
Bratt 👀
Peer pressure! I hope this has a trickle down effect like Bergeron when he signed for less it made other people follow him and it allowed Boston to be a poorhouse for a long time.
Siegs did it too. Hopefully they can convince Meier to come down to $8M/yr
I know everyone says Nico is the man and he really leads this team but man Jack’s development into this fiery leader is something else. He’s so competitive and wants to win and knows what it will take. He 100% deserves every single moment with that A on his jersey
He and Nico man, this jersey means something again
Leaders lead from the front, not the back, and that’s exactly what Jack and Nico are doing. You can take the few extra shekels or you can buy into the concept of everyone sacrificing for the greater good.
Green or glory? If you prefer the former, kick rocks.
Jack is such a fuckin legend already
Bratt, his agent and that jerkoff on Twitter can all go screw.
