Because Leafs’ fans expect the team not run it back one more season, ownership due to its affinity for the Shanaplan will retain Shanny, Dubas and likely Keefe. Trading away Matthews will cause a riot on Yonge Street! Local boy Marner is tied to the hip of Matthews so he’s safe. Tavares won’t relocate from Mississauga so that leaves Nylander as the only sacrificial lamb to appease the angry mob. He will be traded.
Nylander’s a leader on the ice for that team…they need to re sign him, he has shown up every year and is well worth a raise.

Lots of skill but his defensive play SUCKS! Possible trade bait for 2 excellent draft picks or players that are skilled and TOUGH!!!
Everyone was on him for holding out and bashed him for it. Sure his comeback season wasn’t great. But I was never worried. This guys an absolute gamer
