It's interesting to hear that after all we have experienced during the past so many years, in their wisdom MLSE people may decide to trade their best playoff performer, i.e., Nylander, to improve the team. This type of reasoning clearly shows why we never win. I remember hearing the very same thing many years ago when they traded Sundin.
Shit, Ill take Nylander, Marner and Matthews in colorado if any one of them wants to come. We're definitely more of a cup contender, but theres no way any of the core 4 from toronto would be first liners here so they'd have to be ok with that. But if Nylander or Matthews wanna come and fill that 2nd line center for us we'd be happy to have either one of them. Nylander is gunna be a fuckin hot commodity. If we snatch him up that's definitely a win for us even if we trade away a first for that.
Oh and Shanahan, Dubas and Keefe from the office need to be put on the chopping block. Holl, Kerfoot, Bunting, Aston-Reese, Simmonds, Giordano, Bordie, Murray all need to be placed on the trading block once Matthews is traded for Cooley and a bunch of picks. Any objection to this is straight failure to move forward with cap hit and a team tweak
No way Matthews walks, unless they get something of equal or better value, but not likely
If Tempe residents vote "no" on Propositions 301, 302, and 303 for a proposed Tempe Entertainment District that includes a 16,000-seat hockey-specific venue tomorrow, then on May 22nd, Alex Meruelo will sell the Coyotes to Quebecor president and CEO Pierre Karl Peladeau for $968 million, including a relocation fee of $195 million to relocate the Coyotes to Quebec City where they will become the 2nd incarnation of the Quebec Nordiques and play their home games at Videotron Center next season.
If Matthews wants to win anything in his life, he can't be taking up that much cap space. I'd honestly trade him at that point because he's way too inconsistent in the playoffs. Was excellent in the first round and was nowhere to be found in the 2nd round. That can't happen if you're going to make the money McDavid is going to be making.

Mitch is too valuable to give up on, kills penalties, is a playmaker and can score . Nylander will get better but not with leafs so he needs to go. Leafs need a Gilmor type of guy that has heart. Leaf fans had more passion in playoffs then the actual leaf team.
Unless the Leafs wanted to blow it up, why on earth would the Leafs trade their most explosive and cost-effective forward in Nylander? Makes zero sense. Assuming they don't want to blow it up, I would imagine Marner has to go because getting rid of Matthews would remove their 1st line center, which is extremely difficult to replace whereas I can imagine different wing combinations for Matthews to give him more space in the playoffs. But trading Nylander makes zero sense unless they trade all of them.
Alain Vingnault would be a good choice to coach the leafs
It would be one of teh most idiotic moves to move Nulander unless the Leafs have given up on a cup, short term.

Flames need to get a new coach and acquire Nylander and extend Lindholm. Leafs need a goaltender to compete/tandem with Sammy and promote a few young forwards from within: Knies, Robertson, etc
Edmonton is mediocre at 5 on 5 and obviously has goaltending questions. The refs and Gary Bettman are NOT the problem.

Buddy, your hatred of Darnell Nurse has now become pure comedy. Are you that clueless about hockey, or do you just have an irrational hatred of the player? You seen to be incapable of mentioning his name without bashing him and his contract. Take a look at all of your previous videos – it's just embarrassing for you.
Nurse is a #1 defenseman saddled with Ceci, who should be a #4 or #5 on a legitimate Cup contender. Nurse spent the past year playing every night against each team's top line, playing the most minutes of any Oiler, playing the penalty kill, all while being stuck with Ceci. Nurse doesn't play powerplay because he has to play the hard minutes that the PP D-men can't handle. He could easily sit back and tee up shots on the powerplay instead of Bouchard, but then Bouchard would be exposed playing the hard minutes.
Give your head a shake. Learn how TEAMS decide who gets what role and why. Oilers lost (again) because they have pathetic goaltending. It's not the Oiler D's fault that their goalies can't stop a beachball.

Nylander would be perfect for the Flames, if Friedman's thought about him wanting to be a more than the 4th guy. He would instantly be the best forward. He also plays RW which is a position the Flames need. I don't see how they could make the cap work, but I guess if there is a will, there is a way.
