    Year 3 of talking about Chabot playing too many minutes. Personally I think he's regressed but I need to see him play under and actual NHL coach first.

    I have a bootleg Tkachuk retro reverse (last year’s) jersey. I wonder how accurate the red is now. Lol There’s some shitty stitching on one of the shoulder patches. But other than that, it looks pretty legit.

    So glad to see this talked about more. Should Chabot be on the top D-line right now in Ottawa? Obviously. Should he be at or tied for highest minutes between the D-men? Probably. I’m not advocating to trade him or anything.
    But watching his play is frustrating as a sens fan – I see consistent costly errors (not unlike many average d-men), and I don’t see anything to suggest he deserves an “A” as a leader in the group. I truly believe we would have less goals against this season if he were playing normal first line minutes, even if those minutes were replaced by third line men.
    Hoping he gets back on track, but I’ve been frustrated by his time on ice for a long time

    Oh man Menno with the Civic Center memories. I had completely forgotten that they came up the stairs to exit right next to the seats in the arena. Great time as a kid meeting Turgeon, Yashin, Daigle, Kudelski and of course Bonk.

    All time guest today. Love the superfan vibe from Menno without the know it all vibe that so many of us are guilty of.

    Chabot has developed a lot of bad habits from playing too much, but I don't think he plays selfish, and I don't doubt his leadership. Last year he was -3 (career high) but people complained that his offensive game wasn't good enough and that he needed more points. Now he is playing more offensive but his defensive play has declined, so it kinda seems like we got what we asked for.

    In terms of goalies, I don't think Forsberg has proven himself in the NHL. The guy works hard so out of respect we call him 1B, but he is a backup. He put together some games last year but hasn't given any hint of consistency this season. The more I watch him, the more I realize he's probably got the worst rebound control in the NHL. Hindsight is 20/20 and we should have kept Anderson around, but Cam Talbot is a proven NHL goalie, who is aging and has expressed interest in staying in Ottawa. We'd be fools to let Talbot go.
