Dubas needed a few more years under Lou and Mark Hunter instead he got lou canned and forced out hunter so he could be the kid GM. Dubas thought he had a SC winner when Lou left, but the leafs still needed allot of work. Why would the Islanders be interested in a guy like that.

I really hate this perspective many fans have that if someone makes mistakes they’re doomed to repeat them forever.
Sure, Dubas made some poor decisions in hindsight, but he did some fantastic things during his time in Toronto and at a *very* young age. The dude is fucking 37 or something.
