    In 2018 no matter the cost, I would have tried to trade Malkin for Mcdavid. This being the 'last year' for the big three, wouldn't be a talking point. 'Older and wants more money' doesn't cut it, for mediocre full year results. Building around Crosby and Mcdavid, no matter what was lost, would have been genius. Multiple first rounders, or even other players, would be worth it for what they would have now. Probably a Boston regular season record, in similarity, right now. That would have been 'too good' a core, plus age, to have a decent counter argument. Mcdavid wasn't franchised enough in 2018 to me; and certainly, was on my keen eye.

    How did they leave Elliot in for all those goals? You gotta pull him for sure after the 5th goal right?

    It was already not icing before the goalie played it on the first goal and would have been blown when the puck crossed the goal line if the penguin player wasn't contesting the icing call by being closer to the puck.
