  1. Shockingly low number of games for a pretty clear intent to injure.

  2. Shotokanguy

Weird number, isn’t that basically the rest of the tournament? Then like, a few games into the next one?

Either way, probably fair. Still hoping he can explain this.

  3. eclarke10

Honestly that’s fair…he knows better and this shit doesn’t belong in any hockey league anywhere.

  4. dudewithchronicpain

He won’t ever wear a Canadian jersey again

  5. Chrisda19

Probably will be down voted for this opinion unfortunately but should be permanent imo. The intent to cause a potential career ending injury is just too much for me to accept anything less.

Couple that with the scummy dive that actually managed the draw a penalty in his favor. Fucking sour taste….just absolutely despicable.

  6. YellowShorts

    5 games is fair.

Let’s stop acting like he murdered someone now.

I’m still shocked Joey did this. He hasn’t done anything like this for the wings

If you want to see legitimate attempts to murder watch this and then compare it to what Joe did.

He has been punished now get over it for Christ’s sake.

Hoping we finally dump his dead weight. We have ZERO need for this type of player. Get the bum out of here asap. 35 pts in 147 NHL games, so before anyone flies in here saying he’s great. He’s not he’s dead weight wasting cap space.

The whole thing was really gross to me. I’m so disappointed in him, and I lost all respect for him. This is something I’d expect from a weasel like Marchand, not Joe.

You don’t fucking stomp on someone’s leg like that. Doesn’t matter if they’re wearing shin guards and are taped up, that’s just unacceptable.

If someone did that to us, we’d be calling for their head and demand they get kicked out of the NHL and banished to the coal mines.

Then, on top of that, he embarrassed himself with the most obvious soccer-style, Ronaldo-esque dive.

I mean, every player embellishes and dives from time to time, and we always hate it when they get rewarded for it (if it’s against us).

I feel like, both incidents separate from another would be bad already, but together, and directly related to each other, it makes him look like a pos.

Am I crazy or is this getting way overblown? Like, yeah he absolutely deserves a suspension, but he didn’t hurt anyone, and it didn’t even look like he put his blade down particularly hard. It almost looked like he was trying to dig the puck out and was stupidly reckless with his skate

  12. Enough-Ad-3111

Yeah, kicking someone is a defense no-no.

It’s so weird man. Joe is literally Mr. Nothing’s-Happening on the ice. He doesn’t score, he doesn’t assist, he doesn’t hit hard, he doesn’t make mistakes that lead to goals against. He just goes out there, skates around and leaves everything like he found it. And suddenly he goes and does something like that. Just crazy.

  14. Gold_duck_89

In my opinion this was Joe’s last chance to shine. You would think Yzerman scouted him for Canada just for a confidence boost. Not a smooth move on Joe’s behalf. Gonna have to trim him and Zadina.

  15. Hefinho

Given that he seems like a good dude and has absolutely no history with these kind of things, to me this seems like an attempt to put the skate between the board and Ninos leg. Failed miserably. Deserved punishment. Hopefully he owns it.

  16. socrates1975

Has anything from him been posting on his explanation?

  17. nikilidstrom

Getting off a little easy. Tournament ban wouldnt have been out of the question.

  18. KingdokCAN

Good. I know Joey Poison isn’t known for stuff like that but that was super dangerous and really fucking dumb
