The Dallas Stars Prove to be Their Own Worst Enemy in OT Loss to the VGK

The Dallas Stars find themselves down 0-2 after a disastrous end to game 2 of the western conference final against the Vegas Golden Knights. Ryan Suter committed a costly third period turnover that allowed the Knights to tie the game. The poor decision-making carried over into overtime resulting in another Stars loss. How can the team correct themselves in order to get back into the series? Is there anything good we can take away from game 2?

  1. Dallas is home for the next 2 games and im positive they win both games. home advantage is huge in these situations. LAST THING SUTER PLAYING IS A HUGE 💀💀

  2. Bullshit refs and Dallas barely showing up. This team needs someone who will hit. Take the C from Benn. He won't hit. He won't stick up for his teammates. Need 3 solid hitting players next year.

  3. I’m nervous but if they can win game 3 at least I think they’ll feed off that going into the 4th game trying to tie the series

  4. They can out play Vegas and play a great game but the W is all that matters and now they need a miracle. They have to win 4 of 5 now. The team up 2-0 in the WCF wins 92% of the time…….NOT good if you're the Stars or their fans. I know they won't be swept and I feel they'll win at least 2 more but I don't believe they'll win this series now. All the same things that plagued them all season and cost them countless games have been present in the post season and is costing them games again. Tigers don't lose their stripes so it is what it is. They're sitting at just above .500 at 8-7 so far in these playoffs and that's the worst record of the four remaining teams and they're 0-4 in OT games which is a bad sign. I'm hoping for the best but expecting the worse. Overall this has clearly been a successful season and they've positioned themselves to be in the mix for a championship for many years to come with their young core group of Miro, Hintz, Robo, Johnston, Otter, Dellandrea, Kiviranta, Lundkvist and Harley.

  5. This was the hardest loss I have witnessed in my history of following professional sports. Had complete control of the game and just like game one where we could have stolen a W, we lose and let Vegas steal game 2. Go Stars but that's the difference.

  6. Split coming in Dallas, Vegas wins in 5. They have way better depth and defense and that killer instinct that Dallas is missing. Dallas won the first 2.5+ periods of game 2 yet the entire time it felt like they were playing a kill the clock in the 3rd period type of game.

  7. It's put up or shut up time…again. A loss in Game 3 means the series is over; no way they're coming back from 0-3.

  8. It’s a war of attrition, Sutter looks tired. Pet peeve warning, Robertson needs to STOP dropping his head and slouching his shoulders every time he misses a shot or makes a mistake. Really f’n tired of seeing him look so defeated for those 2or3 sec’s. Kids do that, pro’s don’t.

  9. Vegas, all year long, have been better on the road than at home, be nervous stars fans, be very nervous.

  10. @dane Lewis do you want to take Tony Cordisco off our hands from locked on Vegas Golden Knights since he always goes against our team in Vegas, and apparently he agreed with everything you were saying the other day when you did the crossover addition. Anyway. Today we did not have our A game whatsoever. They were sloppy in the second Turning pucks over left and right couldn’t get out of there zone clean hardly ever. It was very frustrating to watch. But Vegas found away and you guys the Dallas Stars came with your A game or close to it and we still beat you guys. Vegas is a really good road team just look at the numbers and Aiden hill is out performing Ottinger in this series so far and VGK depth is showing more prominently and clearly in the series. So far and honestly, I am very glad that we got rid of Peter DeBoer, because in my opinion, he is not a good coach at all. I am very happy and thrilled that we have Bruce Cassidy behind our bench. He knows how to get his players ready to go for sure, and we are mentally tough. We don’t get rattled when we’re down one nothing this team has great determination frankly, we are better than the stars.! GO KNIGHTS GO!

  11. You’re not very bright. Are you there Dane you tell me if your team play in Edmonton if you’re penalty kill will be at 85% or whatever it is I highly doubt that and you only got one power-play goal so far against us. U went 1-3 so I wouldn’t be saying Vegas penalty is garbage because if the Dallas Stars had to go up against the Edmonton Oilers and their deadly PowerPlay, your precious little penalty kill would not be looking so prestigious as it is and we did score against you on the PowerPlay!
