To be honest his contract will be totally fine for them. For now though, he eats up more then he can perform up to. He is part of the reason if they get eliminate simply due to his current cost.

I have no doubt that he has second line potential though, and we should have kept him.

Fuck it, I’ll say it. This is so sweet.

Every Kotkaniemi related thread has been nothing but Habs fans wishing him the best of luck and trying to move on and Canes fans being absolute twats about the whole situation while pretending it’s us that have been assholes.

Maybe if you hadn’t payed this 3rd line center 11 million dollars the last two years you could have signed/traded for someone that would actually help you but hey! You pranked us so it must have been worth it.

Now every single player on your roster outside of Kotkaniemi, Svechnikov, Slavin, Kotchetkov and Burns are a free agent or an RFA looking for a raise this year or next and your 5 million dollar a year until 2030 prank is standing in the way of signing key guys. Ya fucking got us though!

I fucking pray to God we sign Aho. It’d be fucking gold.

Wish he showed this much passion playing with the Habs

On one hand. I don’t mind that he went and got paid. On the other hand, he’s been closer to the cup with the Habs than with the Canes.

It is a little funny. Especially the whole fiasco surrounding it going public.

It is what it is, mayne

  7. He was the least used forward of the Canes in this game. 10:15 minutes.

It’s less than what he got vs TB in the SCF before Ducharme scratched him. You know, the thing that made him want out.

Seems in line for KK to break things when he doesn’t get his way.

i would be frustrated, too, if i were him. i know i’ve seen canes fans talking about how good he’s been for them in the playoffs, but genuinely, i only ever notice him when he’s falling over or crashing into bob, one of which happens basically once a shift. i can’t remember having seen another player struggle so much to stay upright.

Hey KK, how many pieces did you break your stick into?

“Here in Carolina, the life is so much easier. You don’t really stress about anything. Great teammates. Great staff. The media is not bad. It’s really a stress-free life here.” – Jesperi Kotkaniemi on the different between Carolina and Montreal.

One month ago. How’s the stress levels now dipshit? Learn to skate yet?

KK chasing the money was a blessing in disguise. I hate every team left in these playoffs (except for Dallas they’re fine), but I won’t feel a shred of sympathy for him when he fails considering that he accepted an offer sheet designed to be a petty sucker punch. Congrats Carolina, you paid a premium for an unloyal career 3rd liner who can’t skate.
