I was very happy when they acquired him- Bergevin did pretty well considering he was in tough spot with the offer sheet for KK. My only question is whether he fits in to long term plan because of his foot speed..
Great video coach…I agree that they should move Anderson now that he is at peak value…Don't believe in his hockey IQ…not an ideal guy for our top 6.
Your presentations simply get better and better…Thanks Coach for these HABS undates
Hi Coach , I was hyped by Dvorak trade and as you point out he is young and I feel the best is yet to come.
The one thing you might be wrong about is the time span for Montreal to be a contender or at least make the playoffs again , here is why I think this : 1 st , we can already see that Montreal is improving the roster , prospects etc. BUT by the end of the next season , we will know all we need to know about Price and if he ends up on LTIR we will have an instant cash injection but if he is good to go, we'll have an Elite goaltender back in net. I think Huberdeau will be on his way to Montreal as a UFA ( lucky Montreal will see his value after the next season , bonus ) 2nd, we have Florida's first round pick and there will be nothing stopping us to trade it for a High Caliber player as we have many excellent prospects. The player support went from almost non-existent last season to an " elite " management at all levels. It seems to me Hughes/Gorton/Molson know exactly what to do next to get Montreal back in the playoffs A.S.A.P. I truly believe 23/24 season we will make the playoffs.
Hi Again coach , I know your mind is like an encyclopedia so I felt you would be interested in the infamous Fedorov contract : a Restricted Free Agent, he held out until February 1998 when he received a six-year contract offer from the Carolina Hurricanes for $38M: $2M yearly salary with full salary for 1997-98 even if he held out most of the season, plus $14M in signing bonus and another $12M bonus to be paid gradually over 6 years or in full, all at once, if the team reached the 1997-98 conference finals. Being last in the Northeast Division the Hurricanes had little risk of having to pay the $12M bonus immediately but the Red Wings were second best in the NHL and were likely to have to pay the whole bonus immediately if they matched the offer. Ultimately, the Detroit Red Wings matched the offer and had to pay Fedorov $28M within only a few months.

Great 👍 video 👍 Pierre, I like Dvorak, and we need to give him an actual chance. However I do think Bergevin gave up too much for him . He panicked. But I do think he may be an alright 3rd line center. And I do think your right ✅ the time is now to trade Anderson, while he has his top value. As for Dvorak he maybe a great shut down guy on the third line. Again though with alot of the talent coming in the next 2 to 3 years ,I m not sure if Dvorak will be in their plans in two to three years. But at this present time your right Anderson s the to get some value for while we can.
Moving Anderson would be the biggest mistake since John LeClair. Anyone that thinks moving Anderson would be a good idea is a hockey moron.
I think it makes a lot of sense to trade Anderson now, we will have Slavkovsky who is also a Power Forward with higher ceiling and more skill. Anderson’s numbers will decline because we will be a bottom 8 team. Now is the BEST time to trade him for assets. 2023 1st Round Pick + A Prospect. The minimum has to be the 1st round pick or no deal.
1993
I don't think that Hughes really wants to trade Anderson right now or it would have already happened. I understand the flaws in his game, however he took on much more of a leadership role last year. Think perhaps Hughes would like to have him around to help mentor the younger players. It's important to have some veterans who can help lead a team during a rebuild. Also Gorton has said that Anderson reminds him of Kris Kreider. Kreider has remained with the Rangers during their rebuild, and had a career year at the age of 31. Worse case scenario, if they decide to keep Anderson for another year, I really don't think it will hurt his value.
Great show Coach
