  1. I love Nick. I love who he is!

Thank you for always seeing the truth and saying it exactly the way it is!

  2. Darren Dredger said Predators’s current President and GM 73 year old David Poile (a Torontonian) who’s set to retire on July 1 to make room for Barry Trotz would be the ideal new Leafs GM because he’s the NHL’s winningest GM ahead of Lou Lamorella who at age 80 is expected to have his Islanders’s GM contract extended.

  3. Kyper on Friday was a 10/10. Now JB on Monday is a 10/10 too. The best timing ever for a camping getaway, in terms of the show!

  4. Shanahan for sure is accountable. The fact that he wanted to renew Dubas AND keep the Big Four intact is CRAZY stupid. It was setting up Keefe to be punted. IMO, Keefe should be fired but others are also responsible.

  5. well guys another 19 years is about to unfold as what Dubas did was to screw his supposed friend Brendan royally … it is about to come part quickly and Shanahan will take the full blow….typical of nearly 60 years of this organization management,,,,

  6. Nobody really knows what went on behind the scenes. What we all know now is that neither Dubas, or Shanahan should still be working for the Leafs. We all just watched the core 4, who these guys clearly put all their chips on the table for – totally disappear in the playoffs, yet again. Then they followed that situation up with this soap opera capping it off. Let’s be honest, most teams have gone to a puppet regime system. In the past a GM used to usually always also be the President. These days, the GM is just the face of the decisions their boss is ultimately making. That’s why I’m not really concerned with Toronto not having a GM in place this close to big decisions needing to be made. Brendan is going to do what Brendan is going to do, whether there’s a puppet in place to announce it for him, or not. As far as the Treliving situation goes. If he’s brought in, the Flames have already made it clear that he can have no part of being involved in the 23’ NHL draft.

  7. shanni will hire chris draper as new gm get the old gamg back together with the winning culture and mindset …😮

  8. Kipper, you are so right on in your assessment of the Dubas debacle! As a 60 something person who has had years of experience in the corporate world there are 2 things that I’ve learned…..Firstly, they don’t like surprises and Secondly and most importantly, protection of the trademark is everything!

  9. It's a power grab that failed ergo not emotional firing. My issue is how Shanahan would want him back. Take a breath…don't you feel more confident a different vision is coming in? Experienced is the key message here.

  10. Dubas statement was solid. Nick the Kyp is reading too much into it. He is taking the high road. Best to be better v bitter. Time to move on. New GM soon. Then new coach.

  11. Any truth to Frank Seravali’s report that Dubas went to MLSE and wanted Shanahan’s job or to be able to bypass him regarding power issues?

  12. enough about dubas dumbass, how about who we are gonna hire and what trades coulkd possibly happen. That's what we wanna hear!

  13. After 5 years of try, The management should look at changing direction if you are not happy with the result. Change is inevitable. Now, the management need to know which direction they want to go. Good or bad, change will now have to take place. Let's hope for the best.

  14. To me, it looks obvious that when Dubas made his speech of possibly taking a year off, there was already a conversation about his future with President Shanahan. That conversation might had been during the first round when fans were criticizing the Leafs game play. Or maybe earlier if you look at the time frame of dates for renegotiations. Must resign Dubas first to have Dubas sign Matthews? Shanahan probably felt Dubas is just giving away money for the level of performance on the ice. If it was Shanahan who asked Dubas not to go to the podium, now looks like, don't go because you're done. You should explain why Toronto should keep Matthews. Many are complaining about Tavares performance. However Tavares has a better faceoff percentage vs Matthews at least during the regular season and career.

  15. If Shanny had a big say on last trades then, he wanted to bring Dubas back, based on the same arrangement. Dubas saw his power being taken away and decided to ask for more money and power to which, he was let go.

  16. I wouldn’t be surprised if Kyle was being pressured by his loved ones to ask for a raised, and that moving wasn’t an option.

Outsider perspective; especially the way the whole thing got out during Kyle’s presser on Monday.

That was a real bad way to play a hand for someone who’s all about making deals

  17. Bergevin in as GM, bringing along Danault or Kopitar with Doughty;
    Trading back Matthews,
As for Bergevin, no player is bigger than the team

  18. 1 hour is great. 2 hours of this drivel would kill me. It’s bad in Jan, Feb, the dog days of the season, now the Leafs are done. 😢 See ya in Sep. summer time! 🎉

  19. The more we're hearing the more it sounds like Shanny really screwed this up.. Almost certainly Dubas messed up his negotiations but the job of the president is to make it work still, especially when you think that's your guy. Spezza saying screw this I'm out looks really bad on the organization…

  20. Shanahan needed to either have him signed or fired before by last Xmas, waiting til now has put the new GM in a bad position to start much like when Dubas had to negotiate contracts with 34, 16 & 88. Also, Spezza's responsibilities – coffee runner/pencil sharpener/car washer, him quitting was comical.

  21. Kyle's trade last year was nixxed by management. He wanted to trade for Marc Andre Fleury and Brandon Hagel. He was going to give up 1st round pick(s) and Knies (and likely other assets) but management blocked it. Thank god. They still would have been bounced in the first round and would have zero decent left wingers to start next season.

  22. I don't get ALL the excuses being made for a GM that took the team KNOWHERE who were LUCKY to have made it out of the first round and half the teams SALARY is wrapped up in players that WILL NOT defend themselves let alone their teammates ! Its A JOKE !!! Shanahan And DUMBAS should both BE GONE !

  23. Look at Detroit before they won their cups… Look at the Caps from 2007 to 2017… one goal short in g7 every year… Leafs need 2 big D and a big G… then possible.

  24. Kyle will win a cup before the Leafs.. although I didnt agree with his press conference and I understand the Leafs stance.. he's still quality.

  25. Did you listen to 32 thoghts? Kyle wanted to cut Shanny out and dealing with the board directly? And the board didn't resp9nd well. And asked Shanahan to deal with it.

  26. Hey, Leaf fans, greetings from south Motown. As a former Leafs fan, and now a member of FTL Nation, the second Dubas talked as if his heart didn't bleed for the Leafs, he had to go. There's actually a worse team in the NFL called the Detroit Lions. They haven't won a championship since 1957. The team culture changed with GM Brad Holmes and head coach Dan Campbell. Campbell has been very upfront about his love for the Lions and Holmes often talks about his commitment to the Lions and the city of Detroit. And that's the kind of coach and GM you deserve. So turn off giving them the attention until they deserve your support.
