The rumor floating around this morning is that Kyle turned down $25 Million/5 Years from the Leafs. The Fenway Group is Co-Run by David Beeston, a Toronto native and son of former Blue Jay President Paul Beeston. As expected Kyle took the high road in his letter.
Dubas's post is from his entire family? Really? But he starts off with a paragraph of "I"'s and mentioning "Resonable and consistent but private discussions" ….. what does that exactly mean? Posturingand positioning himself as the high-road guy I presume – e-mailing his yes to the job, while having his agent sent a completely revised contract to what was discussed with Shanny is not reasonable nor consistent. Sorry dude – and good riddance for a brutal build of a soft team unable to elevate when it counts. Just look at Florida – amazing work.
Shanahan has always been the GM. Dubas was merely a puppet. He wanted more control but Shanahan wasn't going to allow it. The LEAFS have become a total embarrassment. The curse of Harold Ballard lives on!!!!!
Kyle taking the high road? Maybe. Or maybe he has nothing to add because the way Shanahan layed it out, is the way it happened. Good luck to him but it was long overdue to get a new set of eyes on this team.
If they hire a woman for gm i will quit the Leafs. I am almost 50 years old and been a fan since i was a kid.
Seems obvious this was a power grab that failed.

Leafs averaged 2 goals per game vs bobrovsky whereas Carolina is averaging 1 goal per game. When there is a hot team there is a hot goalie, and the panthers look unbeatable. Maybe the leafs just got unlucky, AGAIN
Shanahan acted like the petulant, hurt, immature, insecure, egotistical man he is. That was a sad display, typical of a former hockey player. What was this guy watching?
